Weird Weather & Other Things

  • Today has been a very weird day weather wise. When I got up this morning, it was raining and snow was melting. (And there was much rejoicing! }Then the temperature dropped and we had sleet which was followed by snow. {Boo! Hiss! } In the sleet stage I went out on the deck and discoverd very quickly that I did NOT want to drive to Burlington even to get a massage so I called Beth and canceled. I apologized because when I have to cancel, I try to do it on Saturday but I had no idea the weather was going to be so bad until it started being this bad! She called me back and we have rescheduled for next Sunday.
  • I have done nothing today. And I am not apologizing for it. It quite often happens to me that if my plans for the day are foiled, I do nothing!
  • I have just bought two little study guides that run on the Kindle. The first one is Italian Vocabulary and the second one is Italian Common Phrases. The opening page has the words or phrases divided into groups. One can open a group and study them. Next there is a multiple choice test where one is given the words or phrases and given a choice of four possible answers. I cannot tell you what the other two ways of studying are because I haven’t tried them yet.  I think one is flash cards and the last one involves using the very small keyboard! I am actually surprised how much I remember. I don’t think this would be a good program to learn Italian from scratch because there is nothing about pronunciation at all.
  • I had the SAD light on for an hour this morning and I have it on now for 30 minutes since it is afternoon. I don’t really appreciate how bright it is until it goes off and I am looking at everything under a normal light.

I am grateful for:

  1. Fred making pancakes for lunch.
  2. my new hoodie  which says "The angels have the phone box!" If you are not a Dr. Who fan this will make no sense to you.

"If you are distressed by anything external, the pain is not due to the thing itself, but to your estimate of it; and this you have the power to revoke at any moment."

I haven’t watched Doctor Who in so long I have no ideas about the angels. I’m frequently the same way when my plans are waylaid; I sit in a stupor and do nothing.

I often do the same thing….NOTHING, if my plans are foiled. I figure, they must’ve gotten foiled because I was meant to rest! :o) !! hugs, Nicky

I did very little today, and I’m not apologizing either!!

Those episodes made me feel really good about steven moffat starting writing for dr who. I loved his other series ‘coupling’ racy to be sure… but absolutely hilarious. Not ones to miss. On another note. Saw this on an auction site… thought it might interest you. http://www.shopgoodwill.com/auctions/The-wonderful-perspective-machine-7535235.html

It’s been pretty much a monsoon here today. Nothing but rain and lots of it. At least the snow and ice is melting, and I’m damn grateful for that.

I will also be happy when spring arrives. Enough already!

If people see you in that hoodie will they blink? That’s the question…

I love your area. My Daughter graduated from St Michael’s in Winooski and there is so much beauty and things to do around and above Burlington.
