A List
- I went out this morning and cleaned the snow off Fred’s car. His gets done because he goes out to buy food. I will do mine tomorrow.
- I am still confused trying to distinguish between "bookmarks" and "friends." But I will sort it out eventually. However, if anyone wishes to explain it to me, I will be appreciative.
- I like having a spell checker that works.
- What I DO like is being able to tag entries. With the help of some of the OD staff, I finally got it figured out.
- Nothing from Amazon about my new Kindle as yet. If it doesn’t arrive on Wednesday, I am going to cry. A lot! {which is ALWAYS two words!}
- I think I may have mentioned I am growing my hair so I can have a new style? I may walk up to the hair place tomorrow and see if someone can cut it for me. I know what I want. I just don’t know if I have it long enough yet to get what I want…
- Hmmm, the spell checker is underlining "doesn’t." Oh, I see! The apostrophe is messing it up…

"Enjoyment is not a goal; it is a feeling that accompanies important ongoing activity."

Bookmarks are people you read (including diaries where you lurk. That’s where you go to see who’s updated. Friends are the people you gave permission to read to read your FO entries, and you can filter them further into groups, if you want, and make sure that every FO entry is only read by the select groups. You only go to the Friends page to fiddle with those permissions.

I thought that the new kindles were not being released until the 27th? After you’re post about yours I kept going back and forth between Amazon and Ebay looking and drooling over them. I finally caved and ordered one from Ebay. My last email from them said mine wouldn’t ship until March 2nd. ♥

The more I read about Favorites/Bookmarks the more I get confused. I thought I understood it until I read the admin note below. 🙂

I was going to write out the same info Gail gave. We’ll all survive the new version. Are you going to give Fred a tutorial or does he have it figured out too?

I don’t think I’m too fond of the new stuff. Guess I’ll have to suck it up and get used to it though. LOL I’m still growing my hair out too and right now my bangs are driving me NUTS!!!! Too long to really curl, but too short to do much of anything else with them. Hugs,M

I hope this is the last time (until next winter!) that you have to clean snow off cars! And I sure do hope your new Kindle arrives today! hugs, Nicky

YAY! I got an email today saying mines been shipped and I should have it by the 28th. Very cool 🙂 Hey.. I’m looking at my note and I said I ordered mine from ebay but I didn’t.. I ordered mine from Amazon. ♥

ryn: I haven’t ordered one… yet. I am thinking I will probably order one within the week! 😀

I certainly thought I had noted this before, but I guess not. You know the wording bugs the time out of me. I hate that the people that I’ve grown to love and read are called “Bookmarks”. I know it’s a simple thing and only a label, but it just rubs me the wrong way.

The bookmarks list is the one to use to find your diaries to read… and the friends list is who’s allowed to come and read your diary. I haven’t figured the tags out yet… (huggles)

Friends are people you trust to read your “fav’s only” entries (I guess now it’s “friends only”) and bookmarks are the people you like to visit, like the bookmarks on your web browser for the sites you like to visit. 🙂

Well after that nice explanation I’m still fairly clueless and still don’t know what tags are for. As for updating, I’m still confused by that as it seems not to be in order by time.

RYN: I TOTALLY see you as seeking and embracing change!! Look at all the things you’ve done just since I’ve known you here rather than just sitting and knitting baby booties! You’ve learned a new language, traveled on your own in a new country, explored and expanded on your art. You are one of the people who motivates and inspires me to do and try new things!!

ryn: Wood is something we have a lot of around here. I don’t even know if we’d have a source for coal. I love the style of the AGA cookers, though.

I’m glad to hear the spell check works now. I hate misspelling words. They just shipped my Kindle and it’s supposed to arrive within a week. I CAN’T WAIT!
