A List

  • I forgot to mention that when I went to the book club meeting, one of our members presented me with a pair of hand knitted socks! I was amazed but apparently she had given everyone a pair at the last meeting which I had missed! They are on my feet right now and are SO warm!
  • My cold is, I think, getting better. I am taking Theraflu iin the morning and in the afternoon and it does work. I have the berry flavor which isn’t so successful. At first gulp it is ok but it has a rather nasty aftertaste. It is also expensive but since there seemed to be none of Rite Aid’s own brand, I guess I contributed to paying for all those TV ads this time around but, if I need more, I will go for the store brand or generic…
  • Well, the big news in the Kindle world is that Kindle 2 will be out at the end of this month If you are interested, you can go here and read about it.
  • The part I like best is that the new Kindle now has a text-to-voice ability which means it will now read to you! And, since I am getting one, this means that when I am walking on the treadmill, my Kindle will read to me!
  • I offered Fred the original one and he is thinking about it. If he doesn’t want it, I have people in mind…
  • I am feeling a bit guilty that I am not actually walking on the treadmill these days but my excuse is that I am having trouble just doing normal stuff around the house since I am coughing so much…
  • We have had about four or five days where it hasn’t snowed. I really don’t mind the cold so much. The snow conceals ice which make it dangerous for Officially Old people to walk.
  • Since we have had these snow-free days, our landlord has actually got most of the ice off the drive.
  • Even more importantly, he has finally gotten around to cleaning up Izzy’s {his dog} poop right on the path to the trash cans and right in front of the trash cans. I can sympathize with Izzy’s desire not to poop in the deep snow area, but I don’t want to have to be constantly watching out for the little piles when I am putting the trash out…
  • And talking about trash, I put out two bags and three boxes of recyclables {mostly paper} on our deck on Monday morning early, and he actually put them out to be picked up! One bag was stuff Fred has been collecting but the rest of it was from my workroom clean-up!
  • I have season one of "Buffy" to watch. I had actually meant to move this from the top of my Netflix  queue but forgot. {Vampires do nothing for me.} Perhaps I will like it as much as I liked {no, LOVED } the "Firefly" series.

Goodness, considering the ice and snow, not to mention you’re not feeling well, please don’t feel guilty about the treadmill — you’ve got a very good reason not to be wearing yourself out. Those socks sound wonderful. Sock knitting is a skill I want to take up.

I’ve found that that Theraflu stuff works better than most cold remedies, also….that and Vicks vaporub and cough syrup! I’m so glad your landlord is doing a better job of taking care of things now. Maybe he just needed to grow into the job! :o) !! hugs, Nicky

Read all about the II today. Sounds like it will be fun. And big hard drive! 1200 books it will hold. Carry your library with you. And multi shades of gray. Enjoy and mighty thin. You will be the envy of all the book clubs in the NE area! If you aren’t all ready!!! Be well and have fun….dan

My office landlady cleans a little path for her doggie to go away from the house, and she’s 80 years old.

I think that I would like to have a kindle one day. It certainly sounds like something I would use and enjoy especially since I tend to read my favorite books to death. It would be nice to have a copy that I couldn’t destroy. ♥

As always…you’re the youngest Offially Old Person I know 🙂

Ditto what FreeAtLast says!

If you liked the cheeky humor of Firefly, you’ll like Buffy. Though it takes a bit to get into.

I heard about the new Kindle – I am happy for you. My ABSOLUTE FAVORITE vampire television series was Forever Knight – from Canada originally – excellent!
