A Rainy Day

  • It has rained on and off here all day  and snow showers are forecast for tomorrow. Oh, the joys of winter in Vermont!
  • I walked on the treadmill today for 15 minutes with one brief stop to drink water. I just can’t walk and drink water at the same time because I lose concentration and start to lurch as I walk. Fortunately, my treadmill has a "pause" feature. Oh, and it was 15 minutes at 2.5 mph.
  • I wish I could find the walking-music  CDs I used when I used to walk outside. They are in a fanny-pack with the CD player somewhere…
  • Fred fixed the broken hose on the vacuum cleaner today so tomorrow I can get up all the dead flowers from the floor that the plant in the window dropped! We actually need a new hose because this one has been taped so many times.
  • Fred doesn’t have an Amazon wish list and I am totally at a loss what to get him for Christmas  because he says he has got everything he needs…
  • I am still trying to let my hair grow out. It has reached the point where I don’t look at it in the mirror!
  • This morning, I finally remembered to call the doctor’s office and get an appontment for a flu shot. I was hoping they would say, "Oh, just come in and we’ll fit you in",  but no, an appointment was made for a week from today.
  • This morning, I paid my car insurance today for a year. I had to go out to the car immediately and put the insurance card in the folder because if I don’t do it the minute it arrives, I have a terrible job finding it when I need it — the yearly inspection comes to mind.  So, it is safe inside the folder in the glove compartment.

Here, they have flu clinics. We get it for free. I don’t think I could drink and walk on the treadmill, either.

remember those silly hats – you put beer or soda bottles in the sides and sipped from them through a straw? Maybe that’d work… if not altogether too confusing. I was walking in the rain last night – at least it wasn’t cold.

I used to live in Vermont; I didn’t like it

So, you are trying for a longer hair style? Me, too. But, I don’t know exactly what style I am aiming for.

When I was in England, I called it a “fanny pack” and got the most shocked expressions. Apparently I said something dirty. I’m still not sure what it meant, exactly, but all they would tell me was that it was a “part of the female anatomy.” They told me to call it a “bum bag.” LOL!

Good for you on the flu shot. I am fortunate in that my employer brings in a nurse for a few hours every fall to administer flu shots to the employees at the company’s expense. Otherwise I probably wouldn’t get one!

I got my flu shot when E had his last diabetic drs. appt.. He got one and the nirse looked at me and asked if I wanted one too. Saved us a trip! I think you’re doing well with the treadmill. Hey, maybe you should get Fred a new vacuum for Christmas! LOL Does he have all of the books by Obama? Hugs,M

Tell him Christmas isn’t about what you need, its about what you WANT. What you wouldn’t buy yourself. 😛 My dad is horrible to buy for. oy. And Darcy’s note: LOL The thought of someone walking on their treadmill with one of those hats- HILARIOUS!

Joe is like Fred! Whenever I ask him what he wants for Christmas, he says “I don’t need anything! Don’t you worry about me!” Well, darn it, it’s no fun for everyone else, sittin’ ’round unwrapping presents, if Joe doesn’t have any to unwrap. :oO !! But I am really glad I found him that movie he likes! You are the only one of my friends who said they’ve seen it! hugs, Weesprite

ryn-No, don’t give up. I’ve seen styles like that and think they are are stylish and sassy looking. It’ll suit you.

It’s hard to buy Fred something when he won’t give you a clue.
