We have Dish Network. A couple of days before the presidential election, I got a card and instructions from them on how to get the old card out of the box on top of the tv and how to put the new card in. I glanced at the instructions briefly and only noticed that "it might take up to 20 minutes" to get all the channels back . So, I decided that I would not do this until after the elections because if I messed it up and Fred wasn’t able to watch the ekection results, he would be EXTREMELY unhappy. So, I put the instructions and the card on my desk where it joined the piles of papers I am going to do something about eventually.

Last night I was watching "Top Chef" and a little box popped up reminding me that the card needed to be replaced. So, I went into the computer room and picked up the pile of paper to shuffle through while I was watching television. There was NO sign of the instructions or the card! I totally panicked! I went to tell Fred  and he suggested that I call Dish Network and ask for another card. I hate HATE calling places who ask me to press 1, press 2 etc!  But I did it. After a long session of saying "no" when I was asked to choose, I got a Real Person and told him what the problem was. He said they would send me a new card and, since it would take 7 to 10 business days, he would reauthorize the old card. I went back to the living room to tell Fred and said, "Now, I guess I will find the original card!" {You can see where this is going, right?} And I went to put the telephone back in its cradle in the computer room and there were the instructions and the card lying there in full view on the desk and sneering at me!

Top of my To-Do list for today is "Put new card in box."

For years, I’ve prayed when I cannot find something. It gives me a second chance – and usually a lot of LUCK, blessings, whatever… it works.

Isn’t that the way!

That’s always the way! I’m glad that you found it anyway! (((Hugs)))

I always do things like this! It’s so frustrating, because I know in my mind that I will put my hands on whatever it is right after I go through getting a new one or emailing so-and-so for such-and-such.

Hate it when that happens!

I don’t think I’d want to be around Fred if there were important election returns on tv and he wasn’t able to watch them! :o) !! ryn: I LOOOOOOOOOVE “Watership Down”!! :o) !! I’ve read it more than once. I actually love books that anthromorphize animals….that probably doesn’t surprise you. There aren’t that many books of that sort that are for adults! I wish there were more! hugs, Weesprite

I think that was a very wise move… not risking losing a connection for the election results. Wise lady.

I couldn’t tell you how many times I have been on the phone with a customer who can’t find their debit card, and the MOMENT I click “replace” they find it. Seriously. Annoying for all parties involved! lol And once I hit that button, I can’t reverse it, so they have to wait for 5-7 days to get the new card. argh.

The world works in very strange ways sometimes. 🙂
