Mammogram and Check Engine Light
I was absolutely gobsmacked when I called for a mammogram appointment yesterday to be given one for TODAY! I can remember when one had to make the appointment three months in advance! So, today at noon I will be undergoing the annoying boob-squish.
Another thing I did yesterday was to call the service department of the place where I bought my Kia and make an appointment to have it looked at. The "check engine" light is on and has been for some time. The woman I spoke to on the phone said to check that my gas cap was fastened properly because that often cause the light to come on. She also asked me was it a steady light or a blinking light. Apparently a blinking light is one you should never ignore. A steady light, on the other hand, can be ignored! Well, actually, I knew that since my older son’s truck had a steady light on for a considerable time!
I spent a fair amount of time last night reading back in my diary. It definitely solidified the feeling that I used to have a LOT more energy than I have now.

I’ve never had one of those, but boob-squishing doesn’t sound fun, medically necessary though it may be. Your doctor is quite efficient with scheduling appointments though!

I used to fear having a mammogram….but when I had my first one (last year) I was pleased to find it really pretty easy. But even so, I’m not going to have one this year. Next, probably. I definitely don’t intend to skip them altogether! The car we had when we lived in England ALWAYS had the check engine light on (steady, not blinking). I told Joe there was nothing wrong with the car, cuz ifthere was, it wouldn’t be running right, would it? He insisted on having it checked several times, but they never found anything wrong with it. So finally he started ignoring it. I was proud of myself….considering I really don’t know anything about mechanical stuff! :o) !! hugs, Weesprite

My “Maint Reqd” light is on. In these new cars they are programmed to come on at certain intervals to make sure that you change your oil and all that jazz. I just hit 25,000 miles, so it must be time for a check-up.

Well, I hate when the ck. engine light is on. I hope your kia is okay and it’s a minor, inexpensive problem.

I was always afraid to get a mamogram. Until last year that is. It wasn’t as bad as I had thought it would be. Of course, the lady told me that the bigger you are the less it hurts. Guess that’s why mine wasn’t painful! LOL Hugs, M

I didn’t know that you could ignore ANY check engine light. I’m glad that it probably isn’t anything. I’m glad that you are getting your annual mammogram. (((Hugs)))

Gobsmacked is a terrific word. RYN: Did you know that there’s going to be a fourth Sharing Knife book in January of next year?

I had one of those at age 32 when, after breastfeeding 4 children, I virtually had nothing left! LOL! Lets just say it felt like my chest was being crushed. Good new though…no abnormalities detected! 🙂

I recently had a mammogram. I don’t find it bad at all.
