Checking In

It was quite traumatic having OD down for so long, and unfortunately, I was one of the people whose passwords got hijacked. So, now I have a different one which I hope I will remember! I was pleased to remember that I had backed my diary up about two weeks ago, but unfortunately, the backups are on the IMac!

My IMac is still in the shop and it is strange writing on the laptop when it isn’t on my lap! This laptop has a touch pad which I found difficult to use up on the desk, so I attached the old trackball to it. This added more confusion because the trackball is on the sliding tray under the desk and so is the keyboard for the IMac so several times I have been typing on that keyboard and wondering why it wasn’t working! Incidentally, it is the "old" trackball because I bought another one while I was at the Apple place. The old one has the ball which is moved by my thumb; the new one has a ball which is moved by fingers.

Today I went shopping and came back with two pairs of jeans, a square skillet requested by Fred, four 40 watt bulbs, and orange-striped summer top for me and some other bits and pieces I have already forgotten.

I was hacked too. I wonder what note had the secret embedded script. I hope he tells us.

My password was hacked as well. And I just lost my ISP, too (bought out by a large conglomerate, and all emails are switched over, but… not forwarded!). So I didn’t get the email saying “here’s your new password”. Glad to see you on the front page.

Blah! Sorry to hear you were one of the unlucky few.

Me, too. It seems most of my faves were affected.

Wow, a lot of the people you know got hacked. That’s really odd. I wonder if it was a chain-reaction thing and I missed out because mine is faves-only. That’s remarkable! Well, I’m glad that the data is safe anyway and that no damage was done; just a lot of angst. And I had planty of that!

Wow, there were lots of diaries effected by this latest incident.

I was hacked. And I only got the “you were hacked!” email, but not the “here’s your new password!” email. I didn’t even know the password was changed until I tried to log in and I had to get it emailed to me.

I was hacked but only got the email telling me I was hacked with no password on it, too.

It seems like almost most of the noters on every fave of mine were hacked. Odd. 😉

I’m glad we are all back! :o) !! Ya know, I don’t think I could ever get used to using a laptop in my lap! It would feel awkward to me, trying to type that way. I always sit mine on my computer desk! hugs, Weesprite

Mine wasn’t hacked but maybe I’ll change it anyways.

I just tried to log on yesterday and it’s back up today. It’s been a busy week for me.

I wasn’t hacked, but a ton of my favorites were. Must remember to back up the old diary!

How do you know if you were hacked? I know OD had to do something extra for me to be able to log on last night. Amazing how something as simple as an on-line diary going missing can interfere with so many lives. This is an important place!

I was part of the group that got hacked as well. How sleazy that someone would do that! Missed everyone! Glad we’re back. Love ya ~M

I agree with you that touchpads are quite difficult to use. I have a laptop, but I have a mouse and a tablet because I can’t function any other way. Actually, I use my tablet a lot more than the mouse. But I’ve never been able to use that touchpad, so I’ve turned it off.
