The Dishwasher AGAIN!

Yesterday I noticed that there was water on the kitchen floor and realized that the dishwasher was leaking again! Well, actually, it was never properly fixed from the last time it was leaking. This was when our landlord said, "You can keep a pot under this and keep emptying it, can’t you? " And Muggins here said "Yes!" I actually would have made more of a fuss about it but after a week or so, the leak seemed to fix itself. So, although I left the little pot under there, I stopped checking it for water. And that was the mistake.

So, it is dripping again. We left a phone message, a note on his door and sent email to the landlord {who lives upstairs!} When he came, he seemed a little annoyed when he said he thought that water was spurting everywhere! {This was, I assume, because I had said in the phone message and in the note on the door that  that I couldn’t find the water turn-off. And, incidentally, this is because there doesn’t seem to BE one!} Anyway, he said he would get someone in on Monday to pull the dishwasher out and fix it properly. Until then, because I found the little pot had overflowed again when I got up this morning, I have put a slightly bigger pot under there today. I can’t put a really BIG pot there because the space is very tight. So, tonight, it will be empty the pot before I go to bed and put towels around it to soak up the mess if it does overflow. I have just finished cleaning the kitchen and notice that there is a "bubble" in the floor covering where there was standing water overnight. Too bad! I accept no blame since he was told about the drip a couple of months ago and did not take any steps to fix it properly back then.

Unbelievable! I cant imagine that the landlord him or herself would want to live like that! Good luck with that!

I wouldn’t either. Ah well what can you do. Have a happy day!

I was reading back on your diary. My mom just had her hip replaced. She is in rehab for it now. I have been running like a mad woman all last week to see her every night. It’s good that Jim is home now to cook for the kids and take care of them and clean up. It’s hard trying to be every where at once. Thank God for My other mom. (my mom’s sister) She is helping me.

landlords are annoying!

Oh dear…

He’s the kind of landlord T. would be…buy the place and expect it to take care of itself. He almost bought a rental one time with my brother and before they could even put money down, the faucet fell off and water was everywhere! He wasn’t too excited about that! Maybe your landlord will learn a lesson from this (though I doubt it).

Why in the world would you want to put off something that could more than likely damage the subflooring or the flooring itself, which sounds like it has? That’s absolutely ridiculous! I hope that they can fix it tomorrow.

He’d better be a nice guy, cuz from what I can see, he’s missing the boat on being a landlord. Make him fix it!!! Love ya! ~M

He really seems to be cheap. You’re a renter, paying rent obviously, you deserve things to be fixed so they don’t break again.

SIGH! I guess you can look on the bright side, you have a landlord making it HIS problem. We’d be stuck with the pot underneath FOREVER. LOL!

August 17, 2008

aggrevating, isn’t it.

August 17, 2008

How very annoying! I guess your landlord was thinking all he had to do was sit back and collect the rent…

Appliance problems can be very annoying. But, you have the right guy on the job to fix it.

August 17, 2008

i hope you get both problems fixed quickly and without any problems. it would have caused less damage if he had fixed it right away! dumb landlord!!! take care,

what a mess! Your landlord doesn’t seem to be overly fond of having to do work, does he? :oO !! hugs, Weesprite
