Still Around

I have been reluctant to write recently basically because I have nothing much to write about. I get up, do a bit of housework and spend the rest of the day reading! Boring to write about but fun to do.

Bullets:

  • My red Kindle cover arrived and it is lovely. And it holds the Kindle very well.
  • I put the tomato plant in the topsy-turvey hanger and it lived for two days then shrivelled up its little leaves and died. I may get a replacement. Or not because it involves taking all that soil out of the container.
  • The tomato plant in a pot is doing VERY well. It is now in a place where it gets sunshine all day.
  • Actually, I think today it may get rain all day…
  • I am supposed to call and make an appointment to see the doctor who did the hip replacement a year ago. I have been trying to pinpoint why I am reluctant to do this, and to my surprise the root of this reluctance is a sort of shame because I am still having to use a cane!
  • I also have to call the post office and find out what happened to my DVD  on making artisan bread.  Apparently it arrived in this town but was never delivered to me.

What I am reading:

  • I have finished The Emancipator’s Wife by Barbara Hambly
  • I have just started Always by Nicola Griffith. Before I got the Kindle, she was one of those "Amazon recommends for you" authors and, in this case the recommendation was spot on. But without the Kindle, I doubt if I would have known how much I enjoy her writings. It was the "Download a sample" that got me. I have now read all her books.
  • I am also reading Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert which is, I already know, going to be one of those books I read slowly because I don’t want it to end… And again, it was bought because of the "Download a sample" feature of the Kindle.

I hear Fred making getting-up noises so time to go and pour coffee…

I started Eat Pray Love but never finished it. Is it really that good? Sounds like you know how to relax. Wish I did.

I loved the book Eat, Pray, Love and you mentioning it makes me want to read it again! I feel that way on here, too. So many have exciting things they do every weekend and while I love my life, I am doubtful that many would want to read it in minutiae. BUT, since it is my diary and it is their choice whether to read in it or not, I write just when I feel the urge. Open Diary has been my best “listener”! (((Hugs)))

I finished Water for Elephants the night before last… I loved it. Thank you so much for sending it to me 🙂

I have always loved your writings…even just the little things you do each day. You know what you’ve done for me when I read those entries? You inspire me and encourage me to do things, get things done, enjoy simple things, set goals, and lots of good stuff. You are soothing to me. SO, with that, I hope you always write about your daily things. I am positive others feel like I do, too. BTW, Itoo, use a cane now. I am presently drooling over this really neat walker! hee. I may not need a walker in the future, just a thing I’m going through now. But heh, at least I can get around. Many can’t do as much as me now!

oh dear, I can see you are interesting me in a kindle. that’s how it started with the ipod… and I LOVE it. We’ll see. Funny, I was wondering this morning why you weren’t writing and if you were ok. Glad that you are. Can understand the reticence about the doctor but can’t help wondering if he might have some extra advice/help for you.

Have a Great Day.

Good Morning 🙂

I am so looking forward to reading when I retire. My book list is endless. As for the cane thing, it could be worse without the hip replacement.

“I am still having to use a cane!” You probably envisioned yourself leaping into his office like a gazelle and twirling gracefully on the toe of your new leg just to really WOW him. When, in reality, he’ll probably be very impressed with the progress you’ve made!

*pauses in a moment of silence for the poor little shrivelled tomato plant, who apparently was displeased with his new pot* Now I wonder who is baking artisan bread using the DVD you ordered??!! hugs, Weesprite

I have wondered myself about the book Eat, Pray, Love. I have heard all good things about it! Hugs, M
