Ok, yesterday!
I got up before I was ready to because I had to have my car at the repair place by 9 am. The estimate was that they would keep it for two days but when I said I would have it in by 10 am, they said if I wanted to leave it at that time then they might have to keep it three days! Hence the 9 am. Enterprise got me a small white Chevrolet with NO CD player! It also has manual locks. My previous Kia had manual locks but I have been SO spoiled by the electric locks on the present Kia. Oh, well, I can live with manual locks and without a CD player for two days! It also came with half a tank of gas and I have to return it with a quarter of a tank. As little driving as I do, I am probably not even going to have to put gas in it before I return it tomorrow!
When I got home, I took a nap which is unusual for me, but since I was yawning and gaping in a most unattractive manner, I felt I needed it. I thought the two hour nap would mess up my sleep last night . All it did was to push back my sleepy feeling to 11 pm rather than the usual 10 pm and I had a good night’s sleep waking up at my usual around 7:30 time.
The book club meeting was unusual in two ways. First, EVERYONE was there. Usually there are four or five of us but last night all eight members were there. The other oddity was that despite the unusually high number of people there, we finished and left before 8 am. Part of it was because Carol had to go home to her 90 plus year old mother who was not feeling well so we cut out our usual gossip session at the end. I was home before 8 pm much to Fred’s surprise. I was telling the group about my birthday present from Fred, the Kindle, so I have promised to bring it next time. Actually, I will have to bring it because next month’s book, Travels with a Donkey by Robert Louis Stevenson is on it!
I have just discovered that everyone and his dog can tell I am wearing red panties this morning since there is a hole in my jeans just along the panty line!
What I am reading:
- Travels with a Donkey by R. L. Stevenson.
- Black Ice by Michael Connelly
QUOTATIONS:
"Step by step. I can’t think of any other way of accomplishing anything."
Michael Jordan
None will improve your lot If you yourself do not.
Bertolt Brecht, 1933
Don’t you love little discoveries like that? I remember last year when our van was wrecked, we had a car from Enterprise and they gave me a very basic Cobalt that didn’t have power anything. I didn’t realize how spoiled I was to them until I didn’t have them!

I’m wearing my white gym pants today and I always have to be careful to wear white undies with them, or I’ll have a tale to tell the world! LOL! Not as bad as a hole, though. 😉

I just finished Empress Orchid, and started the sequel, The Last Empress. Great reads, if you get a chance.

Any body who likes books can’t be all bad. LOL I don’t believe I have ever run across that title, “Travels With A Donkey”, by R.L. Stevenson, before.

LOL at the red undies…and it always happens on a day when the bright colours are on (not the boring utility version). RYN: 6’8″!!! AHHHH! i shudder to think what size feet he must have and how hard it would have been to find shoes.
