Today

Can you believe we are having more bad weather tomorrow? Snow/rain/sleet/ice!

I went up and down stairs to the basement today and three loads of clothes and sheets got washed, dried and put away. What I didn’t do was to read the book club book. It was about Robert Oppenheimer and the Los Alamos project and honestly, I just couldn’t get past the first few pages. The book started by going back to the hiring of his secretary and all the back story of her life. Now, I read a fair amount of true crime stuff and if I am interested in the people, then I am willing to go back into their life to find out what brought them to this place, but I wasn’t the slightest bit interested in this woman, or in her boss. So, using my aching muscles {from going up and down stairs} as an excuse, I didn’t go to the book club meeting. And that book will go, unread, into the Freecycle bag!

I am now into watching Star Trek:Voyager in the evenings. Since I have seen some of these on television, sometimes I just skim through them. But I am really surprised how much better they are with no commercials and for one or two, –The Year of Hell: Part One and Part Two come to mind– even though I knew what was coming next, I watched the whole thing through again with interest. My very favorite episode {which I haven’t got to yet} is the one where the Doctor and Seven exchange bodies. I smile even to think of that one and how the Doctor in Seven’s body enjoys food so much and how annoyed Seven is when she gets her own body back and find she has consumed all this non-nutritional stuff!

{I am easily amused}

I would feel the same way if I were Seven! Ye gads!

I absolutely loved 109 East Palace about Oppenheimer and his work force. It was quite interesting once you got into it. My book was written by Jennet Conant.

I was just thinking about you, because the slop has just started here. I was thinking, “LOOK OUT, Patricia! It’s coming your way!” I’m SO READY for spring at this point!

Also: my favorite episode is the one where the whole crew gets caught in the holodeck running a Beowulf program and the doctor has to save everyone’s cookies. It’s not particularly true to the poem, but it’s HILARIOUS. “Fire is not the only heat. You know where I sleep…..” If you like Robert Picardo, he appears in later season on Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis (both ofwhich I think you’d really, really like)

Jim was joyous this weekend when he found some star trek reruns on. I wasn’t feeling well so I went and napped. I feel better, but I now need to go to bed. Blessings.

Life is too short to read stuff that does not hold my interest. After all ” so many books, so little time”

That book sounds like one I’d put in the Freecycle bag too! We haven’t seen all of Star Trek Voyager…. and missed the one you mentioned. It would be funny (to everyone BUT Seven) if Doctor caused her to gain ten pounds! :o) !! Gee, I hope your weather starts to get spring-ier soon!! hugs, Weesprite
