Insert Deep Sigh Here

This is becoming a habit! I am not going to class today because of the conditions of the road, specifically our road. It is covered with packed-down icy stuff. I have to go up and down some nasty hills to get into Burlington and I just don’t want to get stuck. I am SO  glad I am auditing these classes. All these absences would have played havoc with my grades! Oh, and since the low temperatures are staying with us, I cancelled my massage appointment on Friday morning. It was moved from last Sunday to this Friday because Beth slipped on the ice and hurt herself. But now as far as I am concerned, it is postponed until this snow goes!

So, what I plan today is:

  • call Beth and cancel the massage appointment–DONE
  • email la professoressa for class work and homework–DONE
  • clean the snow off the cars-ONE CAR DONE
  • clean the bathroom floor
  • make another loaf of bread –WILL BE DONE NEXT
  • watch Star Trek DVDs.

QUOTATIONS:

Hang in there! Warm weather is on its way — It’s supposed to get up to 50 today here! Woot!

Sigh. I sometimes envy those of you in parts of the country that actually have four seasons with snow and all that, but sitting here looking out my window at the green grass and blue skies reminds me of the blessings of banality. 🙂

The bad weather can’t keep up much longer. Still you must be terribly frustrated. I guess that is one of the downfalls of living up north. I always loved the snow and storms but really am starting to get used to the southern weather. I wanted to ask you about something. I have felt bad for a while now that I must have done something to have lost you as a friend. I don’t know what it isbut you don’t come around my diary anymore and I have always really liked you and had a great deal of respect for you and if there is anything that I have done I would really like to rectify the situation. I’m sorry that I have taken so long to ask.

RYN: (smiles) I guess I should have asked sooner. I seem to get deleted when I go through those spells where I don’t feel like writing or noting. Thankfully I haven’t been in that kind of a funk in ages. I am glad that I didn’t do anything. I often write without thinking though and it doesn’t surprise me if I offend people from time to time. thanks

well, I think that is a very wise decision of yours. You are auditing so it makes no difference but even if you weren’t, far better to get a lower grade and be safe than to risk going out, slipping and breaking something or worse, breaking that new car of yours.

All this wintery weather is ridiculous, even for VT. My parents and I were talking and they’ve just about had it. Everyone should move to NC.

Well, I’m glad you’re staying home, cuz very few things are really important enough to drive on bad roads for. But I sure hope spring comes soon, so you won’t have bad roads keeping you home anymore! :o) !! hugs, Weesprite

Same story here, except you probably have more snow and more ice. It’s 14 deg. F. here. Stay in. That’s the smart thing to do.

we’re in the mid 50s and this Saturday it is supposed to be mid to high 60s. Crazy. But here in CO we have that weather and at least 2 snow storms before the 4th of July. I just wish we had more predictable weather. And I’m glad that you’re playing it safe and don’t to class when the weather is that bad. You really don’t need another hip surgery. 😉

Boy I hope spring is soon for you two.

Wow. I wouldn’t mind a snow day or five. Paradoxically I also enjoy the mid-Atlantic-type mildness. Who said humans are logical?

Mmmmm, bread! You make me miss my machine! Sending you sunshine and warm breezes from here. Maybe it will help to melt all that nasty white stuff! Love to you. ~M

That snow is really wreaking havoc for you. Hope spring peeks it’s head out very soon!

I am so sorry that it’s hard for you to get out. I am glad that you aren’t chancing a fall.

Stay away from the ice!!!! I feel guilty complaining about the temperatures here being in the 20’s. I’m so spoiled weather wise: but, I remember the days of contending with the snow and ice. It will wear you down. Above all stay safe and don’t risk falling… hopefully spring will be here before we know it…

RYN: You and Fred could always move to South Carolina. We could use more thinking people down here and you would get spring a lot earlier. 😀
