Snow, Snow, & More Snow

About two hours before the time for the  Italian class yesterday, I got email from la professoressa saying it was canceled due to bad weather. I only check my email twice a day so I picked it up in the evening check which was a bit late. Now I don’t know if the college was closed yesterday or not. *I* made the decision that I wasn’t going because of sleet and snow.  I don’t know officially how much snow we got {and are still getting, come to that} but there seems to be a couple of inches on top of the bird feeders. A lot of the day, it wasn’t snowing but sleeting and there was a coat of ice on the car. Anyway, this morning I looked out, saw it was still snowing although very lightly and called the physical therapy place and cancelled my appointment. I probably could have walked up there but just didn’t feel like making the effort.

Yesterday Fred asked me if I knew where his big stock pot was. I told him I would look and I did but I didn’t find it until today he asked me where the other pot was, the smaller one that I keep birdseed in. I told him it was in the corner on the counter. He misunderstood me and said something about it being under the counter. This made me realize that I actually hadn’t looked under the counter in that corner where there is one of those very useful circular things that you can keep big containers on. Well, I looked and there it was! And, much to my surprise, the lid was in the lid drawer under the stove! I am always amazed when things turn up where they are supposed to be! Anyway, Fred cooked a turkey breast a day or so ago and he is planning turkey soup in that big pot.

I am almost finished with the seventh and last series of Star Trek: Deep Space 9. In fact, I am about half way through the last episode. There are so many balls in the air right now I am wondering if they will all be caught before the episode ends. I particularly want to know what happens to that really annoying Kai Winn and Gul Ducat. I left them in the Caves of Fire when Adami Winn had just poisoned Gul Dukat as a sacrifice to the Pah-wraiths. What I want to happen is Dukat, who is hanging over the edge of the cliff, to reach out and grab the stupid Kai by the ankle and for both of them to go whirling and screaming down into the depths of the fire! LOL  I can’t remember who plays Dukat but Winn is played by the excellent Louise Fletcher and has been a believable and well developed character all the way through. Even when she moved from worshipping the Prophets to the cult of the Pah-wraiths, it was all quite believable because of the way Louise Fletcher had played her.

Ok, time to get some toast and Marmite, make the bed and then settle down to finish Deep Space 9. Then I will start Star Trek: The New Generation. DS9 and the TNG were my Christmas presents to myself. In the waiting-until-I-can-afford-them limbo are Star Trek; Voyager and possibly Star Trek Enterprise.

Until later…

Always amazed when things turn up where they’re supposed to be — me too! LOL! It’s such a relief. 🙂

Gee I wish things turned up where I was supposed to put em.

I’ve been hoping some of that snow would drift down here. I could SO use a snowed-in day!

I made homemade turkey soup one day last week. Sounds like the perfect day for some! HUgs, M

Louise Fletcher is an amazing actress. I laughed when readinga about the comment of things being where they’re supposed to be. My husband swears that our house is part of the Bermuda Triangle because we rarely can find what we are looking for in it! (((Hugs)))

Anytime things show up where they are supposed to be here, I leap up in the air, clap hands and shout hallelujah! (And no, I don’t do that very often….heehee!) hugs, Weesprite

“A place for everything and everything in its place!” My mother would chirp. I’m certainly that way, but my husband is NOT. When he puts things away, I can never find them. You would think that after 33 years of marriage, 32 of them in this house, he would know where things belong!

I just have to hear about snow and get cold. If it is any consolation, it has been bitter cold here in the south for us. Don’t think it is supposed to get much into the 40’s today here. At least the sun is bright and shining today so hopefully my clothes on the line will dry fast! Be extra careful walking and driving on that snow and ice…

I think in Deep Space Nine they kept a lot of balls in the air so they could do movies. That’s not happened, but I wasn’t entirely satisfied with the ending of the series. Then again, I’m usually not happy with the endings of things, writers tend to leave things open ended…just in case.

I am completely addicted to Marmite on toast now. And crackers. And cottage cheese. I think I could eat it by the vat. 🙂

Mmmm, turkey soup! If I could I would be over for lunch.

Barely any snow in England this winter, but we do seem to be getting a lot high winds and rain.

RYN: I remember the line being said in many Bugs Bunny cartoons.

Man, sometimes I just want to POUND Kai Winn. And I secretly love Dukat and Garack. My favorite characters of the entire series, by far!

Mmmmmm…. turkey soup!

Oh, and I meant to add that I just purchased these little plastic containers that all take the same size lid! Yea! No more having to find the lid that matches the correct container. Simple joys! =)
