Day Before

Well, tomorrow is the Big Day when I start back to taking classes.

Things I need to remember:

  • Go early enough to check out where the Italian classes will be. I have a room number but the adviser said to check that at the front desk before I go because often the classes are moved at the last minute. I have to check this before classes start because I have only 30 minutes between ceramics and Italian and I want to use those minutes to eat.
  • Put a couple of notebooks, a pen and my Italian dictionary {the small one} in my backpack. Also I need to have a sandwich, some fruit, my cellphone and my wallet with money in there, too. Oh, and find my art apron and put it in the backpack, too,
  • Wear a sweater with easy-to-push-up sleeves {for ceramics.} I have already cut my fingernails!
  • Eat a high-protein with a little fat breakfast at 11 am before I leave.

In thinking about yesterday, I have NO idea what useful things I did! I know I emptied the little pan under the dishwasher  and washed a big load of dishes. Oh, yes, I cleaned the bathroom including the floor which was looking a bit grungy. The rest of the day, I watched Torchwood reruns on BBC America. I am becoming more and more enamored of that series and will probably buy the DVDs when they come out at the end of January.

List for today:

  • get a big box full of recyclable paper and a big bag full of the same out of the workroom and the bedroom. I was waiting until the landlord emptied the recyclables bin before doing that, but I have decided it isn’t MY problem if the paper gets soggy since I have to put it beside, rather than IN the container…
  • Pack the backpack with everything except the sandwich and fruit and put it on the end of the table right beside where the coats are. I find I have to have a certain place to put things I need to carry with me or they get forgotten. Back in the teaching days, my stuff went right in front of the back door!
  • Do my exercises including those damned squats and plies! {I may hate these exercises but something is working. I still lurch but it is much less that it was…}

I hope everyone has a good day and stays warm. The temperature here in my part of Vermont is 12 degrees which feels like minus 1!

The temperature was only eleven degrees here this morning!! :oO !! And we are supposed to be not nearly as cold as up there in Vermont! hugs, Weesprite

I’ve not been able to get very excited about Torchwood. The second season began here last week byt I missed the first episode. I’ll probably watch the next one though if I remember.

We’re having a heat wave today. It’s in the mid-20’s right now. Yesterday the high was in the single digits! Have fun with your class tomorrow! I’m glad you’re auditing, so you can enjoy the experience more.

I hope you enjoy your classes. Good luck!

Wow, I can’t wait to see what you create in that ceramics class. So how did your glutes feel the first day after the squats and plies?

RYN: Ahh, that’s a good little jest. 🙂 Makes both of you feel better!! As a child development major and teacher, I’ve seen so many unhealthy parent/child relationships. My oath was partly those, and trying to remind myself of all of the things that have driven me crazy in the past when I see others doing them. Ahh.

seems like you’re ready to go, all set up! Wonderful. And you’re right, its not your problem about the trash/recycle issue. Your landlord seriously need to get his act together.

ryn: well the good news is, once your muscles get used to doing them, they won’t hurt so much. Of course, by then (if she’s a good “trainer”) she’ll have you doing lunges or something else to torture new muscles!

Brrr! Sending you sunsnine and warm! Reading your entry I thought you said “cellophane” instead of cellphone. I’m sitting here thinking “What does she need that for?” Duh. Have good fun!!!! Can’t wait to hear about how class was. I was thinking of you in the middle of the night.. Had the strangest dream where everyone was speaking Italian… Thing about it is, I don’t speak Italian… Love to you! ~M
