A Lazy Day Again

I wrote about physical therapy in the previous entry. Later this morning, Sherri, the front-office person called and changed my 8 am appointment on Wednesday to 9:30. She thanked me for being so accomodating but I didn’t tell her that I was delighted to change because I found this morning’s appointment too early! Now my sleeping is so messed up, I sleep whenever i can. For example, today I went back to bed after Fred got up and after pt this morning.

Tomorrow I go to see Dr. Zee to discuss just this sleeping problem. I think it is partially a habit left over from the time when pain from the surgery woke me up around 2 am. These days it is also Restless Leg Syndrome which is excerbated by the anxiety/excitement about my upcoming trip. I want something to help me sleep right through the night AND something that will enable me to sleep on the eight-and-a-half-hour plane trip from Philadelphia to Rome. I am desperate enough to take something that isn’t generic if it helps me. But I can’t believe there isn’t something generric that will help me.

Today I have done NOTHING! And very nice it was too! However, tomorrow will be different.

Tomorrow:

  • at least one load of clothes washed and dried and put away. {This was on my list for today but I didn’t do it}
  • drive to the library to change books
  • walk at least half a mile
  • drive to the doctor in the afternoon {I think it is 2:30}
  • home exercises for my legs

Random Thoughts:

I am listening to my Leonard Cohen playlist on my MacBook. "Because of a few songs wherein I spoke of their mystery, women have been exceptionally kind to my old age…" I am listening to  to the album "Dear Heather. "

Somehow I got the impression that the books by Bernard Cornwell I was reading about Alfred the Great were part of a trilogy. I checked today and it seems it is only two books.

My MacBook has just told me it is 9 pm {What? Your computer doesn’t tell you the time in a prissy female voice every half hour?} so I am going to watch "The Closer."

Every time I listen to the beginning of "Boogie Street" {Leonard Cohen on "Dear Heather"} I feel the hairs on the back of my neck rise…

QUOTATIONS:

"Step by step. I can’t think of any other way of accomplishing anything."

It is funny how one day can be very laid back and the next super busy…..much of which is beyond your control.

I have a pill if you want one.

ryn: I just posted the longest one I could find lol

hugs, M

Thanks for your notes, Patricia. Yes, we both have been trouble sleeping. I don’t have any trouble falling asleep but wake up too soon. Part of the trouble with me is leg pain, and other pain. I have a bit of the RSL stuff going on as well and have for many years. In fact, that is the reason Gunther wanted his own bedroom. He couldn’t stand my “twitching”. ::sigh::

Hope you find a solution to your sleep problem.

I’m glad that your appt. time was changed. The appointment setter at my dentist’s office automatically looks for a late morning appt. for me. I told her that she knows me well.

Maybe your legs are just restless because you keep thinking about them so much during the day that they don’t have time enough to get it all in! You really are doing so well that only us outsiders can appreciate it. Look back a few weeks at random and you will truly see how far you have come in a short period. have fun…dan

RYN. Recycling only started here about five years ago. Up till then we just put everything in the same bin. I think they had bottle banks in certain places, but that’s all. Now recycling is taken very seriously, and whenever we go in a shop we’re asked if we want a bag for our purchase instead of being given one automatically.

I do so enjoy Leonard Cohen. He simply rocks, he does. I hope you get some help with that sleeping problem.

ryn: Well I have to do BOTH. I have to demonstrate something I am good at and I have to do a speech. For example, if I decide to bake cookies, I have to talk about how I made them. Or something. I’ve already decided I’m not doing it, and it’s too late to turn anything in anyways because we’re starting the demonstrations today and tomorrow. Oopsies. Thanks for your help anyway though.
