A Small Entry

Tonight I went to the book club meeting at the library and had a lovely time. The person who chose the book was not there so we had an interesting time telling each other what we disliked about the book! Then we just sat and chatted about various things for the rest of the time. One thing I learned that I didn’t know was that the husband of my former boss at the library had been in a motor-cycle accident a few weeks ago. Apparently he is doing very well but his Harley was totally wrecked…

One of our members has just had a stroke and she was telling us that she was left with a weakness on her left side. Unfortunately, she is left handed and she said she was having to learn cursive writing all over again. He husband is amusing. He brings her to the book club meeting every month but he doesn’t come over and sit with us. The meeting starts at 7 and ends at 8 and every meeting we hear something to remind us what time it is coming from whatever corner he has ensconced himself. Today he banged something on the floor eight times. My favorite was when he did Westminster chimes and eight bonging sounds after it! I guess he needs to do this because when his wife doesn’t come, we have been known to go overtime!

Ok, I have to get my mind around the fact that I have physical therapy fairly early tomorrow and get myself to bed…

Oh, and I took my countdown to Italy down because it was making me anxious… I have a reminder on my pop-up calendar…

LOL, it sounds like the book club was a lovely time. I wish we had those sort of things around here, and it very well may be that we do, but withw orking the afternoon shift, I don’t get to do much.

🙂 I love the idea of westminster chimes and bonging. I could probably use a child or two doing that in my classroom but I won’t suggest it. We’ll just have to run over from time to time.

That’s amusing about the waiting husband. I often do things to hurry Joe along when I’m waiting on him also!! And once when I was part of a book study group, the person who suggested the book wasn’t present so we all spent time griping about how we all disliked the book also! hugs, Weesprite

So funny about the waiting hubby! LOL Motorcycles scare me for that exact reason. E was in a bad wreck when he was younger. We had toyed with the idea of getting one ourselves years ago but E didn’t think he would ever feel safe on one again. Hope therapy goes well for you today! Hugs, M

I love it when the person who suggested the book isn’t there because then people are more “honest” in their assessment. So which book did you announce for yours?

I forgot! I cannot make book club on Thursday. Sometimes hating the book makes for a great discussion.
