Early Morning
Yesterday {I think} I walked around the block but was not able to motivate myself to do the extra walk up and down the road to do my goal for the week which is half a mile. Today I had the bright idea of doing the up and down the road bit first and then going around the block. I am not going to tell you it was easy because the last bit, the home stretch, wasn’t. I only accomplished it by walking ten steps and then stopping to get my breath back. But because it was the homestretch, I was motivated to go on knowing I would come into air conditioning and could grab a bottle of water from the refrigerator as I passed! So, in summary, I have done my half mile!The other thing I have to do today is to find my bathing suit. I have physical therapy in a pool this afternoon at 3 pm. If I can’t find my bathing suit, I will go in the water in an old t-shirt and my oldest shorts. I have done that many times, too. Up to this morning, I have walking in sandals. I finally remembered where I put my walking shoes and got them out and wore them with socks for my walk this morning. However, in a couple of minutes, I am going back to sandals. I cannot stand my feet being so hot…
The frozen-food man will deliver fudge sticks in about 15 minutes….

Mmmmm…fudge sticks. I get the sugar free ones from Schwan’s and they are yummy! I love their Strawberry Frozen Fruit bars, too. They’re only 40 calories and have big chunks of strawberries in them.

I think Michael Jordan was on to something when he said “step by step…”. Can you take a small bottle of water with you on your walks? Now they have those cute, little half-bottles. Anyway, good for you. Around the block seems too far for me these days so I admire you. It would be better if you inspired me to do the same, though. I’ll wait until it cools down. Mmmm, fudge sticks. Yum.
