And Later Today….

I feel very much better this evening. Much though I hated doing nothing most of the day, it was apparently what I needed to do or not do… I did go out for a walk to the corner and then back down the road to the house next door. I also tried walking a  few steps without the cane, and although I still have a limp, it seems a bit less than the last time I tried. However, I am not going to rush this. I eventually want to walk without a cane and without a limp. Another reason I am feeling good is that Fred called the Peking Duck Restaurant and ordered all sorts of goodies which I have happily consumed!

The next big thing is to start organizing what I am going to take to Italy. According to what I have been able to find out, the temperature in Lucca in September is very close to what it will be here in Vermont except, apparently, more rain. What I have in mind is to take clothes I can wear in layers. I will need to bring a couple of pairs of comfortable walking shoes. I read somewhere that one should take half the clothes one thinks will be needed and twice the money!

good advice. Another one I heard is that you should take khaki pants because it’s the same color as dirt, so the dirt doesn’t show so much. Plus, if you have 2-3 pairs the same color, you don’t have to worry about what shirts go with them, just buy things that will go with khaki.

I’d take half the clothes for twice the money right now. Especially since many of my clothes don’t fit at this time.

It’s good you have a healthy appetite. That will help you recover faster.

There was a web site that told you exactly what to pack. Maybe you can find it by googling what to pack. Glad to read you are doing so well. How long are you going for? Are you going on a tour?

🙂

Yes, I think that Italy is a pretty expensive place. And I don’t think you’ll need a lot of clothes.

My sister has traveled Europe (Spain, Germany and Italy) and said the very same thing. She felt her biggest mistake was packing way too many clothes.

I hope that by the time we are your and Fred’s age, Joe will know that a PERFECT way to cheer me up is to go to a favorite restaurant and bring back goodies! :o) !! I am glad you felt better as the day went on! hugs, Weesprite

That’s excellent advice!
