A Summary
At 3 am I was up HAVING A SHOWER!
At 6 am, I took my nice-smelling self back to bed. At 8:20 I was woken by a phone call saying the visiting nurse was coming to take blood around 10-ish.
Unfortunately, it was E., the nurse who after three tries last time couldn’t get blood. After three tries THIS TIME, she was equally unsuccessful. And the last time really hurt. A few minutes ago a different nurse came in and got the blood immediately the first time.
We have just had a nasty-sounding thunderstorm. I will take myself outside for a walk a bit later on this afternoon.
I hope everyone noticed I GOT A REAL SHOWER this morning! And Fred just presented me with a couple of books he had ordered for me…

I bet that shower felt GLORIOUS! You should call and request that the nurse who can’t seem to get your blood is replaced with a different one. Awww, Fred’s such a sweetheart!! Hugs, M

It is such a pleasure to be free to take a shower ANYtime one wants to…. even at three a.m.! :o) !! It sounds like the “E” nurse needs to go back to blood-drawing school! :oO !! And please, can you send some thunderstorms our way? It is so dry here; we need some rain! hugs, Weesprite

Glas you finally got a shower. Some nurses can never take blood but other times the veins are just small.

Don’t you hate being the practice dummy for nurse trainees? ouch!

congrads on the shower. i read how badly you wanted a “real” shower. And i agree. Happiness is the small things. So why do we always go after bigger, better ,and newer? I don’t know. Loved the photograph of the sailboat.

ryn: That is a wonderful happening with your son and her. I hope that you enjoyed the shower. It sounds like you did. You are making improvment each and every day! You should be so proud of yourself. Blessings.

The same nurse/doctor isn’t allowed to take blood more than twice in one day here. It’s against the law. A new person has to be called to do it if it fails twice.
