Waiting

I feel as if my life is on hold until the surgery {which is on the 19th.} I don’t want to do anything until it is over and I am safely recovered.

Yesterday I did nothing. I didn’t walk, I didn’t do Italian, and didn’t do any housework. {Actually, on that point, there isn’t much that needs to be done since I spent the first day of no Internet thoroughly cleaning the house!} Well, I did open one of the boxes from the porch and it was full of Fred’s "stuff," I notice he is slowly going through it. If it was mine, I would dump it all but we are all attached to our own "stuff."

Today I will open another box, one of mine and see if I am quite as cavalier about my "stuff.". And today I HAVE to leave the house to get a massage. And I will continue reading. I am reading my way through Lisa Scottoline’s books. They are intrepid-lawyer-solves-mysteries type books which is hardly surprising since she is, apparently, a lawyer. They are ok, nothing special, good time-wasters…

Basically, I have nothing to say. So, I am off to get breakfast and put the ingrediants for a loaf in the machine. And move Fred’s car so I can get out later to go for the massage.

QUOTATION: If you have the courage to begin, you have the courage to succeed.

I can understand that this waiting is dreary for you. And frustrating!! This would seem a good time to try meditation?

Waiting is always hard. The best thing is to keep busy. Also how about sticking up on books to read, non perishables etc.

Funny how the time usually just zips by … unless you’re waiting for something. The next two weeks are probably going to seem like forever to you. At least you’ll have your trusty notebook computer and can check in with us! 😀

Waiting is not something I do well so I can totally sympathize here. Wish I had some fabulous piece of advice, but I’m afraid I don’t. As for the boxes? I still have a couple in the sloset nine months later! And throw something OUT? Um, no. David won’t hear of it. Only time I can get stuff tossed is if he ins’t here! Love to you! ~M

It’s a shame really that it isn’t possible to pop into the hospital and say okay guys, let’s get this over with!

Waiting is so frustrating…I am waiting & praying for you for a very successful surgery, and resumption of your active life! 🙂 Your future DIL knows AT? VERY cool – talk about a small world!!! 🙂

waiting is so doggoned difficult!! how long will you be in the hospital? is the hospital close to your home? however will fred manage without you?!!! will say a prayer for you and your surgeon. i’m sure you will be very glad when it is all over and you’re on you way to recovery!! take care,

I don’t like waiting either. Any time I am waiting on some major thing, it seems like I just get stuck in some kinduv holding pattern also, doing very little. I’ll be so glad when your surgery is done and you’re back up ‘n walking again! hugs, Weesprite

ryn: Yes, it’s the same story the world over isn’t it? lol

One day I’m going to read until my eyes fall out…I swear I am!

I hate waiting for an upcoming surgery. I would rather they pop it on me like they did with the one I had in 03. I was admitted on Saturday and on Monday they said ” We have to do surgery.” On Tuesday it was done. Much better than the countdown thing! Hugs, M

🙂 may be a time of rest after all hard work you have done is just what you need. I time of preparation perhaps?

It must be horrible waiting. I hope the time goes fast!

I hate waiting for anything. I have little patience and almost drive myself crazy. Then, I think that I am wishing my life away because it is a one shot deal. As for doing no much, why not? You sound like you are always busy, I think women feel guilty when they have the smallest break.

Thanks for stopping by..:) I know what you mean, I always want to get rid of other one’s stuff first..:)

I do love the comment about ‘stuff’! I’m certain that you’ve heard George Carlin’s comment about stuff; rather vulgar but oh so true!

Is the operation for a hip replacement, Patrisha? That is what I recall you saying some while back. Yes, it’s awful waiting. You need some more books to take up the time or something relaxing. Lily’s idea about meditation is great. Love, Anna

RYN. Yes, I have tried freezing chocolates, but I think I’m better off just not bringing them into the house at all, because frozen or not, if they’re there I’ll eat them!

Once you have the surgery you can do all the reading, dvd, Italian and what not that you need to do while you are on your road to recovery. Right now I would be keeping busy walking, and running around and getting stuff for the upcoming surgery. I know how you are dreading it.

I’ve been getting light massages from the physio. They feel so good!
