An Entry
Yesterday I rode my bike for the first time! It was fun. I did about a mile and a half and my hip didn’t seem to hurt any more than it was before I went out. However, I must remember to put my orange vest on too when I ride. I want to be sure that every car on the street is aware that I am there.
I went for a massage yesterday afternoon and drove by the waterfront on the way back. Since it was the weekend, the streets were filled with walkers, joggers, runners, skateboarders, rollerbladers and bicylists! One thing I realy like about Vermonters is that at the first sign of spring, they are out in full force doing something energetic. Our landlord and his girlfriend had a kayak on top of the car on Saturday and were gone most of Sunday, I assume kayaking. When I first came to live with Fred, he had a kayak and I really enjoyed using it. But then I developed this arthritis stuff and he gave the kayak to Mike and Melanie, our former landlords.
I had a good night’s sleep and yet I still feel physically tired. I would like to go back to bed–not to sleep but to rest but I have things I need to do. Maybe after breakfast I will go for a short bike ride to perk myself up.
Things that need to be done:
- homework {most of this is done}
- eat breakfast
- remember I am going to both Italian classes tomorrow. {Sheesh, this will be hard. It will be from 9:15 until 11 am and then from 11:15 until 12:45.}
- ride my bike
- change the CD’s in my car
QUOTATION: If your ship doesn’t come in, swim out to it!

Having time to exercise is one thing that I have missed very much. In one more week, that is exactly what I will be doing as much as possible. I feel pain in my knees much less after working them out regularly.

Oh, the bike riding sounds fun…one of these summers I’m going to buy me one. This summer, though, I won’t have time to ride it, unfortunately.

I don’t know if I could even get on a bkie again! LOL When I was in college I rode my bike back and forth from home to the campus, a 12 mile round trip. I was in MUCH better shape back then! Hugs, M

glad to hear about the bike ride. I went out Saturday. I really enjoy it as a replacement for running since my knees have gotten old (along with the rest of me)

Always lots of people out and about when the weather turns warm after being cold for so long.

I was able to ride my new bike for the first time! The hardest part was getting used to the cars passing. I live on a quiet road, but there is still some traffic. I keep picturing myself swerving out of the way, hitting a patch of sand, and falling directly into the path of the car. Hmmm, am I being overly dramatic? 🙂

Everyone gets out and about at the first sign of good weather here, too. It is cold for so long, you need to enjoy it while you can.

I’m glad your hip wasn’t bothering you like before! Oh I love the nice weather!!! RYN: Thanks for your note. Yes, at least they do get part of your name right! Haha. I just need to stand up for myself more. I don’t know what my problem is.

People are out here in full force when spring hits. Lots of yardwork, raking. Joggers are out on the road very early when I leave to go to the school…I see them anytime after 5 am. Would that I had the motivation.
