A Bit About Class *
EDIT: So, I finally got in touch with USPS –a real person contacted by pressing zero every time I was told by the robot telephone voice to make a choice. The software I was waiting for from Amazon was sent by "media mail" which, I was told was the "slowest." And when will the software be here? Well, they couldn’t give me a date but I was told it would ne "next month!" I sent email to Amazon stating my annoyance with this and wondering why I email I got from them said April 12th as the arrival date when USPS had informed me that it would be delivered "next month?" So, we shall see.
Class this morning was pretty interesting. One of the students, Susana, ran in the Boston Marathon and we were all asking her questions {in Italian} about it. I HATE being put on the spot so when it was my turn, I completely froze. I had no words to even begin to ask what I wanted to ask so la prof suggested I ask "How do you prepare?" And, of course, much to my chagrin, I had to be prompted on the simple word "How." Anyway, I understood a lot of what Susanna said and I am most impressed by her ability to construct answers in Italian.
Only five more classes.
La prof offered me a really cute game with numbers and telling the time in Italian and I may do this instead of what I had planned. I need to write to the teacher and find out if her fourth graders CAN tell the time {in English} when shown a card with a clock on it!
I was supposed to have a piece of software delivered by USPS on the 12th. The tracking link says "carrier has been informed" Now *I* need to find out who to call to find out where my software is!
QUOTATION: Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

4th graders should most certainly be able to tell time by a clock that has hands and numbers. blake was learning that in 1st grade. when i am put on the spot, i find i freeze, too. my mind goes totally blank and nothing comes out of my brain or mouth. take care,

yeah, once the carrier has been informed, that means it was only registered. I learned that.

It’s funny, I can process foreign languages when I am reading and writing them without too many problems, but when I have to ask or answer verbally, I turn absolutely stupid. It’s always driven me crazy, and I wish I could understand why it was so.

I hate those telephone answering robots. lol

NEXT MONTH??!! Why would they send ANYthing to ANYone, by such a slow method?! :oO !! You could’ve walked there to pick it up in that amount of time! hugs, Weesprite

Media mail is the slowest and usually only used when it isn’t something that is time sensitive. I think the one to blame is the cheapo (media mail is dirt cheap) who used that method. USPS has much better and quicker methods that aren’t that bad price-wise. I know because my husband has worked there for over 23 years!

Most of my fourth graders can tell the time on the standard clock. Unfortunately, digital clocks have killed all practice in some homes. I was in a French class. I know what you mean about understanding but freezing in the speaking.:)
