Later Today
This morning, as la prof suggested, I timed my homework. Now, my sister always timed traffic jams and anything that caused one to not be able to get where was wanted, and she was right, it always a lot less time than you think. I was actually surprised how much I managed to do in 45 minutes. So, now I have got 1 hour and 15 minute left. {In case you are wondering what I am talking about, la prof said on Thursday for us to do as much as we could in 2 hours} After that, I cleaned the dining room floor.
So, next, I decided to go out to do a little necessary retail therapy. Since I cannot walk any more, I have gained a few pounds and that means my bras are all too tight and most uncomfortable. So, I went into the mall and got three that fit me well. I had a wonderful salesperson who measured and fit me properly so when I was finished, I asked her name and told her I was going to fill out a form at the customer desk to let someone know how helpful she was.I really believe in doing this when I get service over and above what I expect. She seemed very pleased.
Then I crossed the road and went into Barnes and Nobles for a cup of chocolate and a wander around to look at stuff. So, as I was sitting at the window looking across the parking lot, I saw Small Dog Electronics which is our local Apple/Mac place. I went over there for another little wander around and came out with one of the new tiny shuffles–a lime green one! I almost bought the orange one but in the end decided on the green.
Fred and his friend are watching a basketball game and doing some male-bonding stuff with chips and sodas and beer! I quite like watching games in person but on the TV is not very interesting so they are in the living room yelling at the tv, and I am back in the bedroom watching Cash in the Attic.
Tomorrow:
- homework
- clean living room floor and tidy-up and dust
- maybe go for a walk
- water all the plants
- change the sheets
I have been adding some Italian songs to this Mac Book and to the Green Mini and had the sound on ITunes turned off so I missed the computer telling me what time it was! I thought it was just an amusing little trick but actually, I find it very useful and missed it when the sound was off.

“Every life form seems to strive to its maximum except human beings. How tall will a tree grow? As tall as it possibly can. Human beings, on the other hand, have been given the dignity of choice. You can choose to be all or you can choose to be less. Why not stretch up to the full measure of the challenge and see what all you can do?” Jim Rohn (motivational speaker/philosopher)

Ci vedo dopo…. see you later…
I’ve never thought of timing homework before. I’ll have to give that a go.

I have decided that I am the last person on earth to have an Ipod, Mp3 player, etc. I think that will be my next electronic item I will purchase.

I ought to time my chores at work. Maybe that will motivate me to DO them.

I would never have guessed that you’d have a “houseful” of men yelling at the tv! (Two can sound like a houseful!) I never really timed stuff like homework, but I did get up and take breaks (or fall asleep and take naps) cuz there is only so much my brain can cope with at one time! hugs, Weesprite

Where did you order your Mac for Dummies from? I’ve had mine since November and am not using anywhere close to its potential. They offer free classes at the Apple store….but no time……

Yay, Cash in the Attic! Alistair Appleton is cuuuuuuuuuute! 😉 Have you seen the half hour American version they have on HGTV? Not nearly as good as the British original. I have to admit though, I usually watch BBC America for Whose Line is it Anyway? 😉

I’m glad Fred is having a rousing, good time! Gosh, retail therapy, that sounds like fun. Cash in the Attic would be a fun program, although we don’t have an attic. 🙂 I miss Clean Sweep. I guess they quit producing it.

How fond I am of Vermont and that I know exactly which stores you went to and where you sat!! I wonder if I will recall Salisbury MD with the same fondness? Doubtfull… Ack. Missing Vermont where roads curve and the horizon isn’t flat and the political landscape is blue.

Ooooo, Cash in the attic!!!!!! *sigh*….all I ever have is junk. I’m thinking I’d like to hear Fred yelling at the tv…. David does it too, when he’s watching the Miami Heat… Love you! ~M

I need to start doing the timing routine with various tasks around here, so I can have a realistic idea of how long things take. I am determined to get some sort of routine down this year!

I’m the same. I love watching sport, but not on TV. I need to be there to enjoy it.

RYN: I don’t have a clue whether you could get the same effect with PhotoShop for the green eggs. I still haven’t installed the PhotoShop software. Color me skeered of it. And eggs, too, now. 🙂

RYpN: I apologize, I didn’t mean to offend anyone, and I’ve edited the entry. I actually made that remark based on a news story I saw a couple weeks ago that said most doctors hadn’t heard of RLS until the pharmaceutical company came to them pushing the medication. I found that interesting.

Finding a comfortable bra is one of The most difficult things to do in retail therapy. I’m glad you had a good experience with a skilled sales person. You’re gonna love your new (green) shuffle!

OOOOOH, retail therapy!!!! Hmmm, wonder if that would help my back? LOL Much like you I can’t stand to watch any sports on TV. I am much more of an ” in person ” person when it comes to that. Hugs, M

Bra shopping is the worst.

There is a place here that claims it measures for the perfect fitting bra. I want to go there one day. Timing homework is a good idea.
