A Get Things Done Day
Well, there will be an Italian Sentence of the Day later for those of you who are waiting with bated breath! Or not, in which case there will be two tomorrow.
I am using today as a "Get Things Done Day" so here is the list:
- Get laundry done. OK, this is almost done. The last load is drying
- Put laundry away {see the one above. I prefer to put all the stuff away at once.}
- bread ingredients in the clever machine. This is done and it is on first rise.
- make yogurt. The milk has been boiled and is cooling. The pots are clean. The warming machine is ready.
- make "cakes" for the birds. This is done This is something new I am trying. Fred pours off fat into a can on the stove when he cooks. I found a recipe to make these bird cakes and I tried it this morning. To the fat, add oats {not instant}, bird seed, raisins, craisins and basically anything you think the birds might enjoy. Mix together. Now, I have put these into muffin pans and they are in the freezer. I am not sure if this will be the best way to form them. I do have one of those metal "cages’ to put fat feeding in and I am going to put a couple of the "muffins" in there when they are frozen. We shall see what the birds think of them.
- Clean kitchen floor. I actually didn’t intend to do this today but when I spilled some oats on there , I thought I would give it a good clean since I have to sweep it anyway…
- start on my homework. It is actually not due until next Tuesday but there is an awful lot of it
Ok, nose to the grindstone again….
Until later….
every weekend since i got the bread machine I’ve said to myself, “You should make some bread.” And every weekend I’ve forgotten or the dog has been psychotic or… something has happened. This weekend my main goal is to MAKE BREAD. I have my favorite mix sitting in the cupboard. I just need to do it.

I have a bread machine, too, and when I first got it I was a breadmaking fool. Then, I got out of the habit and stopped. I should make some when I go home this weekend. I love it with a steaming bowl of soup! Good luck on getting all of your list done today!

You have done a lot today! That is a really great idea, those bird cakes. Please let us know how the birds like them. And how are you going to give it to the birds? Are you going to hang it from a branch by a sring or something? Cuz I would like to make them; that is a good thing to do with the fat from cooking. Anything that brings more birds, I like! Here’s wishing you and Fred a lovely evening!hugs, Weesprite

I love your making cakes for the birds! We usually put out suet in the winter, but I don’t think we have yet this year. Been too busy with work, but no excuse. I will make sure I get some put out. It’s going to get colder this weekend – perfect time. Good luck with the cakes – take a photo to post if you get a chance!
