The Tree is Down

We got the tree down and put away. With two of us doing it, it really didn’t take very long. After the tree was put away, I got my book and lay on the bed to read. I napped a little, I think… hope it doesnt mess up my sleeping tonight.I finished up going for two walks today because someone from the library called and told me La Bella Figura was in. I told them that I would pick it up on Tuesday which is the next day that the library was open all day, but then I looked at my watch when I had finished my Italian and it was 11:30. The library closes at 1 pm on Saturday, so, plenty of time for me to get down there…
Fred made the best chili I have ever had tonight. It had a really subtle slightly lemony taste. He put in a cinnamon stick, cumin and coriander and it was FANTASTIC. I had two bowls and am delighted that there are left-overs.

I wish that it would cool down here a little. Right now, I’m not too much in the mood for it with the unusually warm weather!

I have a new book in at the library but I didn’t pick it up. I hope they hold it until Tuesday when I go in to work at the gift shop. Good for you, going on two walks. Mmm, the chili does sound good.Coriander is a seasoning I have never used.

I’ll bet cinnamin is good in chili. I will try that with this week’s chili batch. My sister gave me a gift certificate to a fancy spice company and I can’t wait until my shipment arrives.

Once when Carrie was in high school, she wanted to make the chili, since she loves chili so much. When I came home from my outing, she told me, quite aghast, that she knew the chili would be horrible because she’d mistakenly put in cinnamon instead of chili powder! But ya know, I thought it quite tasty. And now I see that Fred puts cinnamon in chili also! hugs, Weesprite

Ugh! I still have to take our tree down. I have the decorations all off and put away but the tree remains. Hopefully my back will allow for that to be done today. MMMMM! Freds chili sounds wonderful! Have a nice Sunday! Hugs, M
