A Picture: Day 1 {edited }

This started life as a photograph I took of apples. Then I added "burn" layers of red and purple.
And here is the original.

Edit: HOW I DID THIS:  The program I use is Paint Shop Pro 9.
#7-9 are excellent. #10 I have but never use because it has moved away from the "artistic" side and into the "photographs only" side. I didn’t even download a trial version of 11 which is the latest. The program went to hell after Corel acquired Jasc… Anyway, basically, I added a layer to darken the black edges and then a layer of dark red in "burn" mode and a layer of purple in "burn" mode too. I play a lot wirth "dodge" {which lightens} and "burn" {which darkens.} I can {and do} spend hours playing with this stuff…

Until later….

“Playing” with a program is the only way to learn the program. 🙂 – – – –

Love that!

That is so neat. I love it!

Couldn’t agree with you more about the JASC program bought by Corel. The did the same thing with the Word Perfect suite which did professional multi-page books until Corel “integrated” it with the draw program. PS. I’ve used Paint Shop since you talked about it here on the diary. Thanks for the introduction.

I love the edited one. I think it’d make a beautiful framed piece for a kitchen. Lovely.

You are really marvelous. The talent you have, of course, has nothing to do with mastering the techniques of using the software. It has to do with the ability to visualize what that final product will look like – or at least have a pretty good intuition that it will look good – before you physically see it. It’s a talent which I completely lack, and I always marvel when I recognize it in others. Anyway, it’s beautiful.

Wow, I love what you did with the photo! And I really like what musiclover wrote in his (her?) note also. That is so true….it’s the ability to visualize the finished product that is the key to the talent! Here’s wishing you a lovely day. hugs, Weesprite
