Stuff Done Today

I can’t believe how tired I am! Leslie, my walking partner, came a bit late this morning and I walked up and down our road waiting for her. I had just come in and was preparing my boiled eggs and toast for breakfast when she arrived. So, we went for a little-less-than-a-mile-and-a-half walk together. To make it a mile-and-a-half, we have to walk round the two parking lots at the park twice and I was feeling so physically uncomfortable by this time, I decided not to do it. I really have no idea why my muscles in my hips were hurting so much. Actually, I decided to blame it on Fred! He ran out of the medication he takes every night to help him stay asleep and he had a restless night. Not only was he constantly moving in on MY part of the bed {which is not abnormal } but he was also talking. And talking loudly. He has done this ever since I have known him and now I have learned to ignore it and not wake up. But apparently not last night!

Anyway, I HAD to go to Walmart and get a new backpack. I have been using Fred’s old one all the time I have been going to school and for a 25 year-old bag, it has done pretty well! When I first started using it several years ago, I restitched the fabric to the zipper but yesterday it finally shredded away and the back-pack is useless. So, I got one at Walmarts. It is big enough to carry all my books {I measured them to be sure and then went over to the stationary department and got a 3 in folder and brought it back to be sure it would fit!}  But the best part of it is not only does it have padded straps, but it has a handle–one of those collapsible ones that are so useful. I much prefer to drag this thing along behind me than to carry it on my back, although I can do that also if I need to.

I bought some other things one of which I really needed. I got one of those tap-on lights that run on batteries to put at the top of the stairs going to the basement. There is a light switch but it lights a bulb down the stairs and round the corner. I am always nervous about that first step even though I hang onto the rail like grim death as I go down. This little thing will give me peace of mind that I am sure where the first step down is.

I also bought a turquoise angora beret and scarf neither of which I actually need but they are very pretty and I look good in them! {I managed to resist the temptation to buy turquoise angora gloves to go with them!}

This Sunday I have another all-day workshop. This one is on collage techniques and I am looking forward to it. However, this means one day less to do Italian homework so tomorrow will be solely devoted to this task.

Fred is making a pumpkin pudding which smells delicious. However, he has no whipped cream! Oh, the horror!  {I will probably survive!}

Off to get lunch and then probably a nap…

I sympathize. Lon snores and it was bad last night. I tried sleeping in the recliner and then on the couch and finally went back to bed and gave him a big nudge to get him to shut up. 😀

’round here, when Joe does not sleep, I do not sleep! He cannot “not sleep” quietly! I think you should definitely go buy those angora gloves to match your hat and scarf! And post a photo of yourself all-bundled-up to go a-walking! hugs, Weesprite

I love bags with handles- if they’re done right & you can throw them on your back when you want they are the perfect bag 🙂

Mike will talk in his sleep occasionally. I’m a pretty light sleeper even with Klonopin and it always wakes me up.

I bought a backpack with wheels from walmart for this term, and I love it, especially on days when I have two classes, a ton of books, and a set of sheets to haul around. Because it was last year’s model, I got it for $15 instead of $20. Woo-hoo!

I was shocked at the price of a good backpack these days.

You should post a pic of you in your nice,new hat and scarf. I love the color turquoise! MMMM, pumpkin pudding. It sounds delicious!

ryn: I saw your note on another diary, with the confession that you don’t like maple syrup. Does Fred know? I’d hate for him to be surprised when the VT authorities come for you in the night for deportation. Keep a bottle of it in the cupboard just for appearances and to allay suspicion. (I don’t like it either.)

Turquise will look good on you!

ryn: I was told that when the meal was done, place the knife and fork, prongs down, at the 4:00 position. It is the signal that you are finished.

RYN: Actually I tried something along that line. I told her I could take her to either Ft. Payne or Scottsboro today. The other would have to be done on another day. She went into this huge huff. I didn’t feel like listening to that crap so we ended up going wherever she wanted too. I really do love her but she can be so trying. Thanks for the suggestion though. Hugs, M

Almost forgot. I just checked out your link. I love your work especially the eye series. Oh, and the ones of Fred of course! 🙂 M

Patricia, your artwork is gorgeous! When did you start painting and drawing? i did a lot of art when i was younger, and would like to get back to it some day. i especially liked your portraits (Fred is adorable!) and the eye series, and oh yeah, the cat and two tomatoes. ryn: So do you mean that Fred is poisoning his life with negativity regretting things from the past? Are you marriedto Fred? How long have you been together? …Sher*

p.s. How was the pumpkin pudding? 🙂

Pumpkin pudding sounds very interesting. Is it like the pumpkin pie filling without the crust? Yummm!! Shopping can be hard work and very time consuming. I haven’t done much of it lately.

Apparently I talk in my sleep. And inexplicably take up three-quarters of the space in the bed. But I’m asleep at the time, so it never bothers me!!
