Taking a Break

This entry is my official break from Italian! I have finished the Fabio and Jessica raccontino which Nichole kindly let me do over and when I get back to work, I will be doing the "La bella figure" raccontino which is due tomorrow. This one is to be written from a series of eight small drawings which show a man and a woman finding money in the street. They go to a clothing store and buy clothes so, I assume they will be  "la bella figura" which means looking good. But alas, the total comes to over $200 and they only have $100. The final drawing shows them back on the street looking for more money! Personally, I would give all the money to the woman and let her buy! There are eight pictures and we have to write at least one sentence per picture.Every month I get a newsletter from the art supply store I buy from and this month they have two paid classes that sound very interesting. On November 5th {Guy Fawkes Day!} there a class in making outdoor sculpture with something called Paverpol. There is a website at http://www.paverpolusa.com. On November 12th there is a class in collage techniques which I am also going to attend. The web site is http://www.goldenpaints.com. Each class goes from 11 am to 5 pm with a break for lunch. So, I called and registered for both of them and this afternoon I am going down there to pay. I like to pay early to be sure I have a place since the class is limited numbers — only 10 I believe. While I am out, I need to stop somewhere that I can get a box of refill staples. My stapler surfaced pretty early in the unpacking but when it ran out of staples, I cannot find the refill box! It will eventually resurface and then I will have two boxes which isn’t a bad fault!

I really DO like this little box that appears when one navigates away from an unfinished entry. I did this accidentally a few seconds ago and much to my relief when I navigated backwards, this deathless prose was still here!

Until later….

“paverpolusa” sounds like some young, hip concert series in the park. Like Lollapalooza, but with ‘usa’ instead of ‘ooza’.

“Deathless prose” ! LOL! Those classes sound like a lot of fun. So, how did the Fabio and Jessica raccontino come out? I want to know the rest of the story.

*huggs* : ) breaks are good!

I think I’ll steal the story idea and run it with my kids. Thank you. The box of staples will reappear as soon as you have bought the other one. Murphy says. 😉

ryn: yep real cadavers, kind of felt like I was in an episode of nip tuk.

RYN: Public speaking is tough enough – pat yourself on the back for doing it in Italian!!

My gosh, now you’re taking Italian! You remain one of my heroes!

Long live the prose. Art classes…sounds like fun.

ryn: Thanks for your thoughtful answer. As I think I’ve told you before, I admire you for all the things you do. Maybe not so much for what you do, but that you keep busy and active, all the time. I really do think my friend is depressed, at least on some level. She’s very unhappy with her marriage, her adult sons are a huge disappointment, and she seems to have no purpose in life (atleast to herself). Too much time “doing nothing” is not good for anyone. I think if she got up at a regular time, maybe did some exercise, planned meals for the day, set some daily chores for herself to accomplish, got involved in a regular community type service or took some sort of class, she’d have a better outlook on life. Just some thoughts that have been rattling around in my head…..thanks for commenting!
