The Rest of This Day
I had a pretty productive day–well, the morning part, anyway. This is what I did:
- I put the ingredients for bread into the bread maker.
- I took the three boxes of Fred’s "stuff" into the porch storage area.
- I swept the dining room floor then dry-mopped it followed by the wet Swiffer. It took all this work because It is the main corridor to Fred’s temporary computer area, the kitchen and the bathroom and it hasn’t been cleaned since we moved in two months ago!
- I first dry- and then wet-Swiffered the living room area and then dusted everything.
- I washed and dried three loads of laundry. I haven’t put them away yet. They are on the bed and I will do that when I have finished here
- I first dry- and then wet-Swiffered the bedroom floor and dusted in there
- I cleaned the hall which leads from the living room to the bedroom.
I have been keeping up with the cleaning and dusting pretty well since we moved in with the exception of the dining room and that was left because there were boxes, unpacked boxes, in there. Now it will be added to my do-a-bit-every-day list.
- I drove down to the library rather than walk because it was raining and got the new Dick Frances book. I also took a copy of The Gates of Ivory by Doris Egan, my personal copy, for Amanda. If she likes it, I will lend her the other two books of the trilogy.
- I came home, had a cheese sandwich {new bread] with celery sicks for lunch and vegged out for the rest of the afternoon. It was very enjoyable to sit in my recliner in the nice clean living room and read…
Tomorrow, first thing in the morning, I will:
- give the bathroom a good cleaning
- give the kitchen a good cleaning.
- go to Walmarts if the weather is good. My list of necessities is getting pretty long.
The company won’t come until four-ish and then we may go out to eat depending on how tired they are. It is one of Fred’s daughters and her family. They don’t stay overnight because we have only one bed. They usually get a hotel room. It will be the first time they have seen the new apartment..
Until later….
you had a busy morning! i think the weather tomorrow is supposed to be bright and sunny. not very warm but sunny. enjoy your company. take care,

That bread maker work pretty good? Don’t you just add the ingredients and it does the mixing, kneeding, rising, and baking all in one process, or no? I LOVE my wet swiffer!!! I am a dust chaser! I hate dust sooo bad! I spent 40% of my housecleaning time just dusting (furniture, baseboards, ceilings, corners, and ceiling fans). GRRRR And I sooo reap the rewards of a clean house (apartment). I love when it’s allllll done! Wal-Mart! YIKES! That just reminded me to call and remind Jimmie that he needs to go to WM tonight and pick up groceries! Our cubbards are almost bare! *L*
