Bits of Things

Can you believe that Amazon sent me the wrong book AGAIN! And, what is more, the SAME wrong book {the workbook} that they sent me last time. !!! Yes, the same book I have sent back to them one time already. If I didn’t really NEED that book for class, I would find this funny.

Fred went out and bought a really nice bookcase today. It is the kind that will fold up and in a light blonde wood that matches the table and the high chest in the dining room. It is also possible to stack another one on the top and although we don’t need another one right now, it is good to know that if we do, there is a place for it. So, today we emptied the last box of books. Now all we have left are two boxes full of Fred’s "stuff" which wll find a home when he gets a new computer desk. He is working on it!

My desk arrived today, too. It is still in the box. {hint, hint, nudge, nudge and looking at Fred .}

My print rack where I am going to store my finished work also arrived today. I said I would put it together. I haven’t started on that yet.

Tomorrow a tech person from Verizon is coming to our house to see if there is anything that can be done about our weak signal. After ignoring us for over 40 days, now we are being treated very well by a person from Verizon who really sounds as if he knows what he is talking about. We have a filter on the phone line that goes into the dish network but the DSL signal is still not good. When we were upstairs we could get videos and photos easily. Of course, upstairs we didn’t have Dish network. {Anyone else out there who find it is affecting their DSL?} Now we don’t even bother to look at people’s videos and pictures are painfully slow. We are paying for DSL speed and getting dial-up slowness in the picture/video area.

Until later….

Splat in the middle of Silicon Valley, we just have ADSL for the internet, regular, and regular cable – hmmm…who knows? Patrisha, I don’t know a thang bout this stuff…it’s working tho:) I think I just heard David mumbling something bout having the phone and the internet combined? Who knows – just so long as my puter works the phone doesn’t matter that much! *snort* We don’t want to lose our phone number…silly, huh? Sigh. Stella!

I think that I would write down the ISBN and take a photo of the book you need from one of your classmates and then see if they can get it right. I think they owe you a book for nothing for all of this trouble!

Grr at amazon.

I hope the Verizon guy finally manages to get things straightened out.

I agree about the ISBN number. My anatomy workbook and textbook have the exact same cover and are hard to tell apart. The only way I make sure I’m getting the exact right book is by the ISBN. No clueabout your DSL. All I have is the slowest DSL (about 5X dialup). I’m too cheap for the high speed.

ryn: yep it looks like that but when I look at what I have accomplished in less than one year, I am amazed with myself. This exercise was a “Patrisha-ism” in lists to boost my interest since I seem to be at a stagnat area in my shooling. *huggs* I hope you get your book and verizon continues to smooch a little more booty!

You must be getting a tad bit aggravated at Amazon! And the DSL situation! Hope it all gets straightened out soon. By the way, you and Fred continue to amaze and inspire me. Hugs, M

Gosh, I never had that problem with Amazon!! but that’s probably because I only ordered books I WANTED, and never a book I actually NEEDED! :o) !! I do hope you get the right book, before your class is done! The new bookcase sounds lovely. I need some new bookcases, but first I have to make some room to PUT them. Here’s wishing you a lovely day! hugs, Weesprite

I too agree about the ISBN. You would think they would have paid attention after they sent you the wrong book the first time. <3 Annie-Rae

I hope this Verizon person can settle the problem once and for all.
