Monday Morning Before Class

So, this morning I have been working on art. I am feeling guilty because I have done none this whole week and here I am just working out the preliminary sketches for the class today. Of course, I have nothing that is due today. Next week we have the critiques on the still life we are supposed to be doing. I am not a fan of still lifes and I intend to take full advantage of my status as a returning student to do something else I find more interesting!

This week I need to plan my art work more carefully. I haven’t looked at the assignments for Italian for this week but I hope they will not be as long or as time-consuming as this week’s were. Of course, this is just an excuse. We all know that, right? If I had done less lollygagging around {translated as staying off OD } I could have got the preliminary art work done.  Hmmm, I just looked at the homework for Italian for this week and it is Exercises 9-11. Of course, that really doesn’t tell me anything because I don’t know how long each exercise is. In the fourteen I have been doing this week, most of them were between 10 to 15 sentences long. One or two were 4 or 5 sentences.
The email I got from Staples said my little student desk should be delivered tomorrow! Of course, then I will have to wait for Fred to put it together for me but when he is feeling good, he really enjoys doing things like this, so, if I hang around looking hopeful, perhaps he will get it done by Wednesday? It looks very simple but then I am not the one putting it together! Fred is also cruising the Internet looking for a bigger computer desk for himself. At first he thought he was going to be confined to getting one for a smaller area but on thinking about it, he realized that the window he was originally not wanting to cover actually did nothing except look out onto the porch area so he has decided that he can take up the whole wall if he wants to! After he has done a bit more net cruising, I think he plans to go down to the local Staples and see what they have. They charge $50 to put it together and deliver it and if it was me, I would go for that. But, as I said, Fred enjoys doing this kind of thing. However, if he gets a really complicated one, he might go for the letting some one else do it!Ok, Fred just got up so it is time for me to get his coffee. {Just to make things clear, I normally don’t wait on him hand and foot! But this is a small thing  left over from the time he had surgery and the heart attack when I did wait on him, hand and foot because he needed me to. I like doing this one little thing for him in the morning and he enjoys it too and so it has stayed! }  Then I need to pack my art bag. I have just looked at what I am doing and although it isn’t all that bad for a preliminary design, I won’t take it with me today. I actually don’t know what we are going to be doing today. The others are working on their still lifes but I think they are doing those at home. Anyway, I can always come up with something to do since, now I have started, there are lots of ideas in my head..

Until later….

have fun in class today

Yes, having that coffee put there near my right hand is such a civilizing thing to help get me going. It reduces the pain of “coming to.” Love and many thanks forever.

I wonder why you have such a mental block against still lifes. Probably the same reasons portraits don’t interest me. LOL! Can’t wait to see all the great things you will come up with for that class.

I refer to that first cup of coffee in the morning as my “Starter Fluid”. 🙂 – – – –

I hope you have fun in your class today. 🙂

I enjoyed waiting on my husband “hand and foot” when he was sick this past month. He was kind of pitiful and I didn’t mind at all. Enjoy your class today!

I’m looking for a computer desk for my younger son. He’s using my old one, which is warped – and besides, the hutch with the cupboard on top broke and was discarded when I moved. Anyway, I got mine at Staples and put it together myself. I can see why Fred enjoys it. I still feel proud when I see the finished product.

Well in my book it’s these little things we can do for each other that keep relationships going & it makes it even better when it’s very much appreciated which I can see it is from that sweet note he left for you! RYN: wow – a whole entry on it – I’m intrigued! Is it about deciding what’s worth fighting about & what’s not really as significant as you think? Am I along the right lines?

WOW, I hope Fred does get your desk together that quickly! Would never happen at my house. I had to finally put the new tv stand together myself to get him motivated enough to put together the desk… Then there was that bookshelf my Dad bought him last Christmas… It’s still sitting there, in the box. *sigh* I finally just gave up. That is nice of you to get his morning coffee, btw. Very sweet of you. Hope your class went well!!!
