Today
Y’know, I am AMAZED at how much more I got done when I had no Internet link! I am having to be firm with myself about not spending the whole day reading my favorites and getting caught up. It is true that OD is an addiction!
Apart from OD, I use the computer for checking my bank statement and moving money from my personal account to the household account which is the account that Fred and I can both access. After I found the payment to a site where students can buy pre-written papers on our household account statement, I was for a time, checking the account every day. I need to go back to this because it is a good habit to get into. {The bank refunded the 69 dollars that was charged to our household account.} I also check my American Express account at least once a week. This is the only card {besides my debit card} that I have and I use it to buy on line. Amex are excellent about refunding and very quickly sent me a new card and refunded the payments when my card was compromised.
I also use my computer for Netflix and I am about to reactivate my account so I can borrow some movies in italian. The instructor has given us a list. I also check and send email and go to Amazon a lot! {I have the missing textbook bought from there due to arrive early next week.} I used to check the TV schedule a lot when we had cable but don’t do it so much now we have a dish. I have various other sites such as the community college’s web page and Post Secret which I check at random intervals.
Anyway, going back to timewasting on the computer, this morning I have been good and have given myself short times here and then I have got up and done something that needed doing. The next job after this is finished will be to sketch out and get the first layer in for my pastels assignment due on Monday. This is the color-wheel one which I don’t have to do, but I am going to do something. I have in mind three shelves. On the top shelf are three vases in red, blue and yellow. On the second shelf are three differently shaped pots of purple, orange and green. On the shelf under that are six little bowls of red-orange and yellow-orange, yellow-green and blue-green and red-purple and blue-purple. Well, that is the concept, anyway. How it will work out remains to be seen.
Ok, this is enough for now. First, I will check the bread in the machine followed by a little moving of piles of stuff in the art room and concluding by making a start on the pastels assignment due on Monday!
Until later….
what a unique idea for a color wheel!! i’m impressed! it’s hard not to stay online for hours at a time. od is the most addictive site i’ve ever encountered. i think i should get up and the dishwasher emptied. then, i can come back to od!! take care,

Make sure you rent Johnny Stecchino with Roberto Benigni. It’s hilarious, and good for picking up dialogue.

I find I’ve had to take the drastic step of sleeping away from home one night a week to cut my addiction to acceptable levels.
