As Usual…

…I hate Verizon. We got a phone call saying we would have DSL on Tuesday of next week. I will believe this when it happens.

Updates:

  • I got my hair cut this morning
  • Fred was measuring the living room and we were discussing what furniture we need last night so, that is a small step in the right direction.
  • Boxes are being unpacked. It may be slow but it is sure.
  • Yesterday I dropped my debit card in the parking lot of Bed, Bath and Beyond and only found out when someone from the bank called me to say she had put a stop on it and to go down to BB& B to pick it up! I had to identify myself before I could get it. I used my passport and my "green" card and the young lady was very interested since she had never seen one before!
  • The bank has removed the stop and also checked that no one had used it before it was turned in.
  • I am reading The Dark Angel by Caleb Carr. I am not sure I have the title quite correct but it is something like this and  is a sequel to The Alienist which was our book club choice for last month and which I really enjoyed. If you like whodunnits set in the past {n this one around 1900} I would really recommend his books.
  • The Schwann {frozen food} man is supposed to come today. I am out of 50 calorie fudge bars.
  • I must call the UVM bookstore today and find out if they will take an order over the phone and mail the book or books for Italian 101 to me. Fortunately, I wrote down the toll-free number. If it wasn’t for Verizon, I would order on line.  Hmmm, it has just occurred to me I could do this from the library computers but since I didn’t bring the card with my user name and password with me, I guess I will try tomorrow if calling doesn’t work out today.
  • This particuar computer I am using has a mouse with no scroll wheel. I keep feeling for the wheel…

Until later….

The little things we take for granted. You missing the scroll wheel – when I try to use the Wife-Unit’s computer for some reason I have the hardest time with her “Scroll Wheel” equipped mouse. I also have problems with the one I use at work. I use a trackball on my own computer and am lost without one. I truely “Let My Fingers Do The Walking.” My favorite from Schwann’s are the Silver Mint Bars. 🙂 – – – –

How come Fred can make entries from home, but you can’t? Hate dial-up? Glad that you got your card back. Only 5 days till Tuesday!

Ha ha! I KNEW you’d like Caleb Carr! I’ve been trying to get Brian to read The Alienist for a long time!

Well, at least you are getting out regularly to the library…that’s not all bad.

Dropping the bank card. Reading that just strikes terror into my heart. Thank goodness the bank was on the ball with that one!

I’m a random noter — I’m glad you found your debit card and that no one had used it. I’ve dropped mine as well, and luckily someone was honest enough to return it. 🙂

that is wonderful that someone turned it in and they notified you. Golly… there are still some honest people out there!

I’d be lost without my ATM card. I use it all the time! Nice to know there are still honest folk in the world, huh? You’re taking italian? How cool is THAT? I can pronounce it, because much of the stuff I sing isn’t translated. But I don’t understand it. You continue to impress and inspire me! Thanks. Love to you! ~M

It’s amazing how we get so used to these little things. I couldn’t stand my laptop without a mouse so had to go & buy one – could never get used to the button thingies! Here’s hoping you’re back with us on Tuesday – at least it’s exercise!!

I’m so glad you got your card back and sounds like no one used it? Whew! Bet you are very cautious going forward now. It makes ME think about it and I will be more cautious with mine, too! I’ll have to catch up about your move & unpacking progress..I’ve just read this entry. Love your ‘to do’s’ and/or your “what you dids.” I do that in my written journal sometimes, but it is interesting to do iton here…better to type it anyway.
