Second Entry

We just got back from the grocery store. As I toiled up the stairs with the bags, I was thinking "Not much longer!" Part of the reason I was having so much trouble with the stairs is that I didn’t take my OTC pain medication this morning. As long as I keep a steady amount in my blood stream, the pain is constant but manageable. When I let the level drop, the pain becomes almost unbearable.

I have put the groceries away and as I was sitting here, I suddenly realized I hadn’t put the Oreo cookies away. Then I remembered that when I was unloading the back of the car, I noticed a loose bag on top of all the large-but-flat moving boxes we still have in there but I thought it was just a stray bag. I keep a few in my car because I sometimes need one to transport things upstairs. So, anyway, I went downstairs to check the car, found the cookies and some hamburger buns that had strayed from the bag but, more importantly, I found that I had forgotten that I left my purse with money and all my credit cards on the front seat of the passenger’s side and that door was UNLOCKED! I was mortified at myself because as Fred had gotten out, I had told him not to lock the door since I WAS moving my purse onto that seat which is where I usually carry it when no one rides with me! I was lucky it wasn’t stolen.
It is odd how one can look and look for a thing and not see it. A week or so ago we were food shopping and I went to get some King Arthur Bread Flour.  I looked and could see none so I ended getting another brand. Fred went over to the section and saw it immediately! This morning, Fred told me he had lost his blood-testing strips. He said he had looked last night and this morning and there was no sign of them. I got down on the floor and looked to where he said they might have fallen, but, mostly because I really wasn’t sure what I was specifically looking for, I had no luck either. So, five minutes after that, Fred found them. Yes, right where they  were ALWAYS  kept! I  will be so glad when this enervating heat is over. It is less hot today but just as muggy.

Until later….

Same here….less hot today, but just as muggy! It IS tiring, isn’t it? As for looking for things but not seeing them…. ugh, I NEVER see anything I’m looking for, even if it’s right in front of my face. And purses…when the kids were little and rode in car seats in the back seat, I’d set my purse on the roof of the car while I strapped them in. And more than once, drove off with my purse….

..and all the money we had IN THE WORLD, on top of the car!! It’s a wonder they weren’t lost forever!! Here’s wishing you and Fred both a lovely day! hugs, Weesprite

sorry for your pain and the heat. 🙂 not much longer now though 😉

I do that all the time lately. I don’t suppose it helps that I have stuff here, and stuff at David’s and am always wanting what’s not where I am. I can’t wait for the time when we’re where we’re going to be, and all this is just a memory. It is of course, hot here, but that’s expected. I still love it, and am convinced that this was absolultely the right choice for me! Love ya! ~M

You are so lucky your purse was still there. I find myself doing lots of silly things like that, and I wonder how I will be as I get older. Been reading back on your entries for the last few weeks. Do hope the weather cools off and your move goes smoothly and you aren’t insane by time it is completed!

Been hot here, too, but at least it’s not as humid as you guys have it. Welcome to July. Another month of this and it will start cooling down. I hope.
