Good Morning!

  • I am try not to obsess about getting started on this move, I really am!
  • Since all the utilities are in Fred’s name, he is the one who will have to call about getting them shut off here and on again downstairs. I can’t tell you how much I HATE doing this. I haven’t moved much in my life but every time, EVERY single damned time, one of these companies has done their very best to mess me up.The absolute worst experience in this field was when I got a divorce, stayed in the same house, but had to have the utilities changed from my ex’s name to mine… Anyway, as I said, Fred will do this and he is calm and nonchalant about the whole thing.
  • people from the bank came round yesterday to measure things. One of them drove a BMW convertible…
  • whereas in the past I used to think of myself as painfully shy, in my dotage I am becoming extraordinarily garrolous. {Hmmm, that looks as if it may be spelled incorrectly but no way am I going to use the spell checker-from-hell…} Anyway, this observation is prompted by the fact that I spent 15 downstairs-on-the-sidewalk-as-food-for-mosquitoes minutes talking to the wife of the man who owned the BMW! We both wondered –as does everyone I have talked to –why the town spent so much money putting a nice little park in the middle of the new roundabout where park users can be overwhelmed by the noise and stench of the cars whizzing around them not to mention being run over by said cars as one tried to actually GET to or from the park…
  • this morning we are off at 9:15 am {the "crack of dawn’" as Fred calls it} to take him to see his kidney doctor. He usually takes himself but he has car problems at the moment {as in no car!} so I am the family chauffeur for a while. I don’t mind. When he has a car, he takes me anywhere I don’t want to take myself which is great when I go to art classes with a huge portfolio and a real  boon in the depth of a snow-on-the-roads Vermont winter!
  • I am getting excited about registering for classes again. It will happen on the 24th of THIS month! Be prepared for universal world-wide rejoicing if and when I finally get it done on line!
  • the mosquitoes this year are particularly plentiful. I am mosquito food…
  • last night we had the steak we bought yesterday and the last of Fred’s wonderful potato salad. The steak was FANTASTIC! It was well worth the $70 they tried to charge us for it! {If this doesn’t make sense, read yesterday’s shopping entry!}
  • Ok, I am off to make coffee and start the day…

Until later….

Have a wonderful happy and healthy day. I should think of taking art classes but I have just been too busy.

A park in the middle of a roundabout?? omg! also…I hate making that kind of phone call too. Every one I had to cancel after my Bro passed away, I had to try MANY TIMES to get it done right. Joe is much calmer about that kind of business dealing. Here’s wishing you and Fred a lovely day! hugs, Weesprite

there’s a park inside the roundabout in the middle of town here. they have concerts there on thursdays during the summer. part of the pumpkin festival is held there in october. they decorate it up for christmas. they have prayer services there on the national day of prayer. while it is difficult to get across the street, people have the right of way. take care,

I suppose they thought it would look nice – taxpayers money at work, etc. I hate those official calls too. I need to make an appointment – today. Gotta get going. Good luck with the move.

Just thought of a smartass remark I can’t help making – should be easier moving downstairs than up.

$70 steak..heheheh

That park must just be for looks. I can’t imagine one that people are supposed to USE in the middle of a roundabout. That would have to be one BIG roundabout! If it was big enough to use, it would be called a “block.” But then a block is square, not round, so…hmmm … where was I going with this? I’ve talked myself into a circle… no … a roundabout! LOL!!!

they do it like that because so even though people are too busy, they still enjoy the park. (more net enjoyment, perhaps?) who is dawn? how do you feel about that sort of relationship?

Have a great day. Hope all goes well at the doctor’s for Fred.

i hope it goes well!

I want some potato salad now. Heehee. RYN: Yep, Isis is a very fat cat. She’s at least 20 pounds. I’ve tried to change their eating habits so she’ll lose weight but it doesn’t work. She’s just takes after me. Haha!

In your dotage is a good time to become garra…garrou..uh, extroverted.:)

You are not in your dotage (or in your dot-dot-dotage, from Nabokov’s Ada).

That must be one heck of a big roundabout to have an actual park in the middle of it! More like a circular road… (huggles)
