A Successful Trip

I just got back from town where there were two things I wanted to get done. The first was to turn in that important little bits of paper that says big fierce animals will be sent to chew me up if I do not pay my college class tuition  {which I had already paid.} So, I got that signed and turned in and then asked what was the procedure for dropping a class.

If my sister wants me to stay, I will. So, of course, naturally I want my money back if I can’t take the class. The good news is that if I withdraw up to one day before the first class, I get my money back all except a $50 fee. Now, it is not clear what this fee is actually for but I pay it when I pay my tuition. The bad news is that since I am only taking one class, I have to see an advisor to withdraw. I can’t do it over the internet. I could possibly do it by phone but I do not see myself doing that from England. I explained I was going to England on the 14th to be with my sister who was in hospice care and if she wanted me to stay, I would do so. Then this very nice young lady gave me her email address and told me that if I had to stay and couldn’t take the class to send her email and she would take it to an advisor and get it done for me! So, that took a big load off my mind.

I then went to Ben and Jerry’s and had a small cup of some of the nastiest ice cream I have ever eaten! It had chocolate lumps and nuts and these were fine but then there was coconut. Now, I have always been under the impression that I liked coconut. But I didn’t like this at all. I doggedly ate it because it had cost me three dollars and then went to Borders where I found a sale of small sketchbooks. They were 4 dollars each which was cheaper than the art store AND buy three get one free. So, I did. Finally, I went into the mall and bought myself two nice shortsleeved tops which were also on sale!

All in all, and with the exception of the ice cream, a successful trip.

Until later..

Isn’t it awful when you FINALLY allow yourself a treat and it isn’t good?

I adore coconut. 🙂 Perhaps it was just substandard coconut? 🙂

Ben and Jerry’s have stores? Nice of that young woman to take care of your dropped class/advisor problem.

I don’t care for coconut. I had to go back and read your entries…it seems that I missed the fact that you are going to England. How long will you be gone? We’ll miss you, and I hope it all goes well!!! I’m sorry for the lack of notes lately…I have been tremendously busy the last few weeks. I finally updated, and I posted pictures in my last entry!! 🙂 Have a good one!!! Josh

The last time I forked out 3 bucks for a cup of ice cream, I asked for a sample nibble before I bought it. Those places will usually give you a taste. Glad you have the option of getting out of the class if you need to.

That was nice of the lady to volunteer to help you. I like coconut, but not sure if I would in ice cream.

Nice she would do that for you. I always hate it when I break down and buy myself a treat only to find that I don’t much care for it.

I can’t believe such a thing as bad icream exists. Say it isn’t so. : P

I’m always heartened to know that there are nice people out there doing nice things. If I worked at a college, I would want to be that girl. I’m glad you don’t have to worry about it now – and sorry your ice cream was subpar.

coconut goes horribly gritty in icecream… (Huggles)

coconut doesn’t belong in ice cream. i like good coconut, some i’ve had wasn’t very good. glad you found a nice lady to help you withdraw from the class if you have to. take care,

I’m so so with coconut. There are certain dishes where its just gross, others where it compliments the whole thing.

I love Borders!

Connor loved the B&J coconut ice cream but his dad bought it for him at the supermarket. So disappointing for you — and so expensive.
