Very Early Entry

At 3:25 am, my eyes popped open and I was awake. I managed to semi-doze on and off until 4:30 but it is 4:55 now and here I am, up and dressed.  I will will WILL go for an early morning walk as soon as I am finished here! {Sunrise is at 5:19 am}

Fred’s daughter and son-in-law, grandson and his girlfriend arrived yesterday and stayed a couple of hours. It was extremely hot and at one point D. {daughter} and I went downstairs and out into the back yard and sat on the grass in the shade. It was much cooler there but, unfortunately, mosquitoes found me as they always do, and we had to go in. When we were out there, I went over to speak to Malcolm the Chow and D.came with me. Malcolm was really funny. He knows me and welcomed me but he didn’t know her so, while his tail was wagging and he was greeting me, he was growling ever so softly too until I introduced her and then he was OK.

Today I am off to the community college to turn in my little bit of paper which says I will pay for my class within 60 days. This is a trifle redundant since I have already paid but I guess they have to have their little bits of paperwork!

Actually reading paper work is not a Bad Thing. I read the refund policy and if I have to cancel this class {if I decide to stay on with my sister} if I do it before the first class, I can get 100% refund of my money.

I was contacted unexpectedly on line last night by P., an old friend. He had actually met Robbie and Victor and stayed at their house for a short time. He was saddened to hear about her lung cancer. He told me to give her his regards and then mentioned that he is recovering from surgery for the removal of two kidney stones and was doing well except for being very tired. Since he is a workaholic, I was wondering what he is doing with himself  while he is recovering. His answer was "Sleeping and eating!" Since I have had kidney stones myself, I was able to truly commiserate with him. The pain of a kidney stone is the only pain I have ever had that had me lying on the floor crying and I include childbirth in my menu of pains!

Ok, I am off to set the coffee pot dripping and then I am out for a walk. Since Fred has asked me to take a prescription up to the drug store for him, I will get a second walk {albeit a very short one since it takes me all of ten minutes when I stroll} when they open.

Until later…

Number of Steps on the pedometer for yesterday: 3395

Hmmm, I guess it is easy to tell I didn’t walk at all yesterday {except for the up-and-down stairs involved with laundry.}

Alas, at six in the morning where I am, the sun’s been up for three hours and the heat has already hit–as I know all too well, since I woke up to go shut the window around then. I don’t think I’ll ever get used to living this far north!

Ugh, the heat this time of year is unbearable!

It is very hot here in the midwest too.

The skeeters love me too. My dad always said it was because I have sweet blood. So there you go, you have sweet blood! 😉 Be well,
