Before Bed

I got Mike to carry the box with my chair in it up the stairs this afternoon and now Fred has the pieces spread all over the living room floor. This is step one in getting it put together.

We went out to eat. Fred went to the car ten minutes before I did to run the air conditioner. I brought my keys and locked the house. I was wearing my new skorts –which are now in the laundry bag because I spilled food on them and since they have no pockets, I put my keys on the table. And we left without the keys. So, I got the spare which is in Fred’s keyring and drove back to the restaurant . As soon as I walked in the door I was greeted with, "You forgot your keys, right?"

I have spent the rest of the evening in the air-conditioned bedroom watching "Red Dwarf: Season 2" and "The Manchurian Candidate."

Tomorrow:

  • put the ingredients for a loaf in the machine.
  • plan my sketch of a landscape for Thursday. I have finished my copy of Vincent Van Gogh’s "Peasant" and I learned a lot. The class assignment on Thursday is to do our own ink landscape in the style of Van Gogh…
  • begin reading  We are the Mulvaneys by Joyce Carol Oates. Two women in the book club recommended it to me.
  • lounge in my new chair?

I can’t believe I went through three changes of clothing today. I started off with black shorts and a turquoise top. I spilled drips from a Schwann’s fudge stick on the top. I changed to a shirt that says "My son went to Korea and all I got was this dumb shirt" but changed to something a little dressier when we went out. I wore a blue top and my new skorts but spilled food on myself so had to change when I got home. I am now back in the Korea shirt but that will go into the laundry bag tonight.

I am off to bed.

Until later…

could be worse, you could be out of clothes 🙂 I usually tend to spill something on me too. The hassle of boobs.

Ooh…Schwan’s Fudgies!I kind of miss them. My hubby used to be a Schwan’s Man. I’m way too familiar w/ all their products. Could be one of the reasons I’ve gained so much weight. That’s a books that’sa on my “To Read” list, too. I heard it was excellent.

I think there must be a food magnet in my clothes, and especially when I wear white — something always lands on them, with the old rule about if it’s new, the odds increase that something will land on it.

Have to agree with the noter that said you could be out of clothes. I constantly spill things down the front of me. lol

I really liked ‘We Were the Mulvaneys’. There was a TV movie too with Beau Bridges and Blythe Danner, which I didn’t see, but would like to. I’m about a third way through a more recent Oates ‘I’ll Take You There’ and I’m kind of stalled, better get going again.

I spill stuff all the time these days, but never used to. Wonder why that is? LOL

My Clorox Bleach pen is my best friend! I can’t seem to wear a white shirt without spilling SOMETHING on it….just the way it is, I guess! Love you! ~M

I sympathize; I spill something on myself every single time I put on something new. Why is that? And is it “skort” or “skorts”??? Weird word. Weird language!

I found my book review of Mulvaneys, in case you’re interested. I made it public. 6/17/02

Just imagine the amount of laundry if you went through that many changes of clothes EVERY day! lol

my daughter and i always wear our food, too. i’ve thought about getting a skort but they’ve seemed too short for me. my shorts are just a little above my knees. don’t want anything any shorter. hope you get your chair put together soon. take care,
