Organizing the Day

Things to get done today:

  • Go for a walk {right after I have finished this}
  • Call the dentist and cancel my appointment for the 9th. {I have done this and the next open appointment is in November!   {I asked them to call me any Monday, Wednesday or Friday morning they have a cancellation. I am not in pain; it is a maintenance cleaning.}
  • Start in homework assignment, I have today and tomorrow morning to get done a drawing of one wall  in my apartment {and all the things on or against it} She said specifically we were not to use a ruler nor mark a vanishing point or the horizon but she would be looking for signs that we were "bearing these things in mind!"
  • Put the ingredients for bread in the machine
  • Make gingerbread.
  • Go for a second walk

What I intend to do when I get back from the first walk is to start on the homework drawing then let it all percolate  in my mind while I put stuff in the bread machine. Then, back to the drawing for a while and then to the gingerbread.

I meant to mention that I really like this instructor. Not only am I learning from her, and not only is she well organized, but she is helpful to the students who are not able to get their work or studying done. The nice young man who sat next to me yesterday and who was so helpful with perspective is retaking his test on the principles of design tomorrow because he was just not able to find time to study. He will not get an A even if he gets it all correct, but he could make a B which is better than the F he would get from not  doing the test at all.There is also an older woman who admits that she is having problems following directions and I am noticing that Jean, the instructor, always spends a bit more time with her when she walks around to see how we are all doing.

Ok, this is the end of the coffee and of what I want to say. I am off to brush my teeth and then for a walk on this lovely sunny and cool {61 degrees} Vermont day…

Until later..

I like teachers who are willing to actually teach, rather than sit around and pretend to know what they are talking about. I’m glad it’s going well!!! I just got a bread machine…do you know where I can find some good recipes?!?! I am wondering if they have recipes for low-carb bread. Well, have a good one!!! Josh

That art piece sounds like quite a challenge! Perspective is so difficult – I remember that from my art homework when I was a kid. 🙂

It’s not sunny down here. I did well yesterday walking but I won’d do well today. Have a wonderful day! Blessings.

Nice to hear a teacher praising another teacher. You really notice what she does right. Happy for you both and the rest of the class. Someday I’m going to take some kind of art class. I’ll probably need lot of help.

It does sound like you have a good teacher. In my last art class we had an older woman (older in the sense that she was in her 40’s while the rest of us were 25 and under) and she couldn’t grasp a lot of the design concepts. The professor instead of helping the lady, pretty much humiliated her for not understanding. Her teaching method totally put me off.

Have a wonderful day!!

RYN:I know. I am just like my mom…I want to please everyone and often forget about myself. I also tend to forget how strong I am and that i don’t need to let myself feel like I do sometimes.

ryn: Yes, it’s phone box.

She sounds like a good teacher. *huggs* enjoy your walk!

A whole wall? Looking around me I see that most walls have a lot of stuff against them.

I was an art major too. I love taking classes.

Wow 61 degrees. It was way over 100 today here. Ugh. Sounds like you have a good day. I wish I had a bread machine sometimes. I do not like bread bought in stores, but I love homemade bread or bread from a bakery.

ryn- Yes! I know you have pictures! I love those screen shots!!!

June 2, 2005

ryn: (to the note in my guestbook!) eeep! yay! I was hoping you’d drop by eventually. I put the link up in my diary a couple times… hmm. Hope you visit often! Thanks for the comment.

I like these colours! ryn–the trouble with firing her is my time frame is tight, June is a busy month for this kind of thing, and I already couldn’t get my first choice of decorator. this is the same problem with getting really mad at her right now! she is already familiar with the place in every detail, and with my furniture, etc. but i will use her less, do more myself.
