Today and Tomorrow
What I have done today:
- my four line drawings. This is quite difficult for me–to draw without shading, and I notice some shading has crept in in spite of my efforts. I have done drawings of the view to the left of our front door, the post in the yard set there for a dog to be tied to it, closed lilac buds and two tulips I noticed on a walk and memorized {ummm guessed at?} when I got home.
- studied my elements of design. Fred tested me twice. On the first one, I missed four out of the seven. I then rewrote the ones I got wrong capitalizing and coloring the corrections so I could see clearly what I had done or missed. I waited a while and studied them again.{This means I read them first and then rewrote them five times correctly without looking at the corrected one. I learn by writing not by reading.} Then he tested me again and this time I got six out of the seven word perfect. I was particularly pleased because on the second test, he gave them to me in a different order than on the study sheet. On the test she has told us she will put the words in random order on the board and we have to write the definitions so that is the way I am studying them.
- I went to the grocery store to get essentials since Fred has no car at the moment. I got orange juice, Marmite, and milk.
- I spent half an hour at jazzercise and when it was time to take a drink, I discovered I had not brought ny water with me. I was a reluctant participant tonight and at this point I felt all the energy drain out of me. I made some excuse and walked home.
- went for two walks if I count the walking home from jazzercise.
- in a minute I am probably going to put the ingredients for a loaf of white bread in the machine. If I don’t do this tonight, I will do it first thing in the morning.
Tomorrow I will do the following;
- make bread in the machine if I don’t do it tonight.
- study my elements of design
- get Fred to test me again if possible. If not, test myself.
- take Fred to get his car back. {He has to wait for some parts to come in before it will be totally fixed. Oh, he just said he probably will leave his car there until the parts arrive…hmmm…}
- gather together the materials I will need for the drawing class. {This teacher is very well organized. We were told exactly what to bring tomorrow…}
- make sure I have enough money to pay for parking tomorrow. {When I was working at the library I always had money in my purse because I used to cash my check every month. Now I have a tendency to run out and have to make a trip to the bank to get more!
Until later…
I don’t think I ever studied that much total in my whole life. Good for you though.
Warning Comment
I’ve never been one who had to study for things… except for math. I could study for that all day long and still get nowhere. I admire people who take the time to study though, because I know I could have upped grades had I taken the time. Good luck again on the test!

I used only reading to memorize until my forties, when I had to add writing. I’m about to take a Spanish class next month, and wonder how I’ll do things then. My handwriting has become indescipherable.

What is marmite?

I used to love line drawings, especially in pen and ink. Are you allowed to do thick and thin lines? I’ll join in the chorus – I wish I had studied like you do. And I wish Mark would use you method, too.

I certainly understand fizzling out when you discovered you didn’t have your water with you. That dry mouth and throat feeling is awful.

you know, I was just thinking that not even that long ago, Fred had heart surgery…. amazing how things have gone back to ‘normal’ 🙂
Warning Comment
Writing things down, rather than just reading, is how I study as well. It seems to work better for me that way.

Wow, you still do way more than I do each day and I wish it would spur me on, but it doesn’t. I did call today about the requirements for that surgery and they said they had my email and were getting it together. Arhghghghgh. I want it as early into July as I can so I don’t miss the first days of school. Maybe once I am thinner I can get more done.

Good luck with the test. I can understand about that tendency for shading to creep in. I tend to do it too.

sounds like a good day!

How did the test go?

*huggs* I wish I had some artistic talent. You will do well on the test. : )

I like drawing but I prefer writing, but I’m sure you do very well at your drawings. Have a great day.
