Some Notes Answered

But inquiring minds want to know — did the women wear skirts or slacks? [Starting Over]

They wore slacks {at the dance class}. But because of long association of dance with the Society for Creative Anachronism, I am going to get myself one skirt anyway!

Ooh, which movie?  [Telynor}

I am in the middle of a British Television Fest. Right now I am alternating  “Wire in the Blood” with Robson Green with “Sharpe” with Sean Bean. Both yummy men but if you are giving me my choice, I will take Sean Bean…

I love oatmeal. What does Fred do that makes it special? [Chipparoo]

He cuts up several apples and puts them in boiling water for a few minutes. Then he adds the oatmeal, raisins, sunflower seeds and cinnamon. Some good variations are craisins {dried cranberries} instead of {or with} raisins and this time he tried soy nuts along with sunflower seeds. The craisins are delicious but I couldn’t see any difference with the soy nuts. When he eats it, he adds brown sugar and half-and-half. I eat it as it is.

did you find your pedometer? take care, [gray tabby]

No, unfortunately, this time it has gone for good. I am sorry because it is the one I bought in England and it was quite accurate..

I am having quite a trouble with FreeCycle. Lots of people say they want the stuff but never pick it up. I will keep trying. There has to be some trick to it I haven’t figured out yet. [Dangnabbit]

I’ve had one or two people do this. I usually put in the posting that I want whateveritis to be picked up as soon as possible. The person who answered my present listing first this time {for some skirts and tops} is the same person who didn’t pick up the last time. She’s got three days to get in touch with me. If not, there are two more emails I have saved…

that’s a shame about your pedometer. any chance you still have the paperwork on it and can order it online? take care,

Hey, I might be going to London in July, let me know what kind of pedometer it is and I will pick one up for you if we make it there. It will be a Thespian trip with two girls and me as their chaperone.

I would hate giving up my pedometer, but I love going barefoot and it’s clipped to my sock. I think I may have to live without it for the summer. 🙁

I will try giving the freecycle people a deadline. The yoga stuff I offered is still sitting there 2 days later after I told 5 people first come/first serve! Some stuff from my storage unit has people negotiating into next week to pick up. This is beginning to feel like more bother than it is worth but I will stick with it.

My gosh woman you are always on the go. I loved the entry about Nick, I bet he can’t wait until next fall when you come and read with him. It sounds like you to hit it off really great! Maybe you could email each other a couple of times this summer to see how it is going.

I am so hungry – I want that oatmeal!

May 6, 2005

interesting 🙂 Can you post the recipe for the oatmeal? I love it too and the way you write about it, sounds soooo good. I just have no idea how to prepare it.

Good luck in finding the type of skirt you want. I like wrap arounds but I never see them anymore. Of course, I haven’t looked much.

Sean Bean. Swoon! Yes, he is quite the cat’s meow in the Sharpe series.
