Friday Morning
I am feeling much better now I am back from a 30 minute walk. There is something very theraputic for me in striding along listening to music. It is cool {46 degrees} and sunny here and I was out without a coat {although I was wearing two layers of clothing.} I walked up to the school and once around the track up there which is something I haven’t done for a long time. I don’t go up there in winter {snow and ice} or after rain {mud and more mud!} or when there is a cold wind from the north {strips the flesh off the bones!} I feel much less anxious now. Isn’t it wonderful that walking not only helps me to keep the 50 pounds off but also helps me to deal with depression and anxiety.
In my walk this morning I saw daffodils and tulips breaaking through the ground and crocuses and snowdrops which are actually blooming. I want to plant some perennials this year so I need to go the the Big Garden Store with the very helpful people. I wonder if they have instructional pamphlets? I have no idea what to plant or when to plant it. I do have some tulips coming up again successfully this year although none of the daffodils or snowdrops I planted the year before last ever came up. I know the snowdrop bulbs were dug up by something, probably squirrels? because I found a couple of the half-chewed bulbs lying around, but I have no idea what happened to the daffodils. Anyway, next week I plan to go to the aforementioned Big Garden Store , corral a working person and get lots of advice and suggestions.
You may well wonder what I am doing going for walks and writing here when I should be off tutoring? Well, Robin called at 9:30 and asked if I could come at 4 pm instead of 10 am. I know she had a reason but I really didn’t care to hear it. I just asked her if 4 pm would be Ok in a tone of voice that said take-it-or-leave-it and she said fine! So, I will go to the art class at 1, stay until 3, walk home–oh, all of five minutes!–and get a snack. Then I will walk around the corner and up four flights of stairs {there is an elevator but walking up stairs is good for me} and tutor Robin for an hour.
Now I am off to wash dishes and clean the kitchen.
Until later…
Dill and I are going to take a walk later, he’s hard to keep up with! LOL 🙂

I love this weather for walking… I’ve been walking at the beach and it’s just wonderful…. of course, I’d love it if it stayed this way all year round.

I love spring, and watching the flowers bloom. I miss the daffodils and tulips. Not the right kind of climate for them here.

Don’t you love to see the little details on your walks that you would miss if you were zooming by in a car?

maybe I need to walk more…but then again I find myself thinking of my problems more. 🙂

Spring bulbs like tulips and dafodils have to be planted in the fall. I find that if you plant them with a little bone meal stick on the bottom they do well and you get big blooms. I know that the tulips like sun because my tulips look good until my tree spout and there isn’t as much sun on them. I have iris’s too, those are pretty. I keep saying one of these falls I am going to get my act

together and plant bulbs that will have flowers coming up all spring. Iris’s are one of the last ones to bloom. I am still looking to see if all my plants made it through the winter. I still am not sure. I love gardens, I have several, the wild flower one usually gets over grown with mint, weeds and some weed vine that keeps trying to choke every thing. Blessings.

Today is very very pleasant, and I too need to get going in the kitchen.
