Wednesday Morning {Edited}
EDIT*******
Well, I did everything that was on my list except for the second walk. I went for the first one at 2 pm and by then, I was feeling out of energy. I keep telling myself that if I want to get two walks in, the first one must be before I do anything else–but unfortunately, I don’t seem to listen to myself.
I ran out of molasses so couldn’t make the second loaf of brown bread as I intended so I tried a new recipe with wine vinegar and chopped red onion! It is now on the second rise and it will be interesting to see what it tasted like.
Today I am planning a “stay-home” day and I have the following to do:
- Make a loaf of two-cheese bread. This is already on its way to completion.
- Go for a walk. It is a GORGEOUS day.
- Make a loaf of either brown bread or white bread or, maybe a new recipe depending how I feel. {It works to make two different loaves in one day because then we have two different breads to choose from for the next three days or so.}
- Make gingerbread from scratch. Fred told me we are down to one square in the freezer.
- Go for a second walk
- Sit out on the balcony in the sun and sketch my small cactus for my class on Friday.
Tomorrow will be retail therapy day {No reading with Nick since it is Spring Break here–and very nice weather they are having for it, too!}:
- Go to Best Buy and Circuit City and price {and possibly –no, probably– buy} a bag for my new camera. I didn’t get one when I got the camera because I was sure that one of the two I had at home would be big enough. They are not.
- While I am at these stores look at and drool over the new iPod Shuffle. I am not going to buy one because my present iPod meets all my needs but I want to see one.
- Go to Wal-Mart to get a recipe box and cards. It will be much easier {and a lot less messy as Fred pointed out } to have the recipes I use all the time on cards I can then put up on the refrigerator and look at easily. I aso need to get some Super or Gorilla Glue to fix up a couple of pairs of earrings that the back has come off.
- It is very possible I may buy some spring clothing there. I certainly will look but since I bought some when I was in the South, I don’t actually desperately need to get any.
And on Friday:
- Tutoring session with Robin at 10 am. {She promised she would be up, having had her coffee and ready to go when I got there!}
- Art class from 1 until 3 pm.
Ok, I am off for a walk in a few minutes.The temperature is 56 and “feels like 56” with sunshine.
Until later…
tell me what you think of the shuffle. i don’t have an ipod yet at all and am beginning to wonder which would be best…

Glad your weather is warming up like ours. yesterday was close to 80. We never get that kind of weather in Wisconsin this soon. We have had 50’s now for about 10 days and it is so nice to have the windows open again.

I just love retail therapy days! Ok you got the nice weather today and we have the rain.

I would like to have an iPod Shuffle too. Do you watch the Ellen DeGeneres show? She gave her entire audience one the other day.

Here’s wishing you a lovely walk; I’m so glad springtime has come to Vermont for you at last! I MUST remember to buy a bread machine. I don’t remember….what brand is yours? Since you like yours so much, I’d like to get the same kind. “Tried and true” generally works out well! hugs, Weesprite

your 2-cheese bread sounds tasty. RYN: *hums final jeopardy theme song* Waiting is what I’m doing. Waiting and hoping but trying not to.

But isn’t it fun to buy new spring cloths? I think so. I am looking and drooling over some things, but I need to return some other stuff I ordered. I am a catalog shopper. I have to get some things for the kids and Jim. I hope that Robin is ready for you. Your bread sounds so good. I visited with Fred and left a note. I like his politics. I hope you both have a wonderful day!

It is 60 here today and we are literally basking in it. A recipe box with cards, eh? How would I spend all that time baking instead of searching for the recipe?? A unique concept. lol

Have fun on your walk! *huggs*

The cactus is a good choice for a sketch, I think.

For a split second, when I read “I ran out of molasses” I thought you were still talking about going for your walk. I thought that was such a cute expression. Then I realized you meant that you really had run out of molasses. It’s very entertaining living in my brain.

You’re making me want to dig my bread machine out… dangerous business for a carb freak! Maybe this weekend I’ll be able to afford the splurge!!! Can’t wait to hear how the loaf with the onion turns out! Love ya! ~M

I have seven recipe boxes full of the recipes I’ve saved since I was a teenager.

Since Thursday is retail day, we’ll have to wait and find out if you come home w/ a new iPod…or at least considering a new one..LOL..god luck w/ sketching your cactus…sounds so wonderful to take an art class..

RYN: Yes the book Jenny was by Paul Gallico and I had a copy for years too….its a wonderful story. hugs

ryn: I loathe iced tea with sugar! Yech! I do like my hot tea with milk and splenda though. I have a request. You are such an avid reader and booklover. Would you compile a list of your favorite reads? I’m not looking for the best literature per se, but the things you have most enjoyed reading in all genres. I think it would be a very interesting list. I may do the same!

How do you manage to keep your weight under control with all those lovely breads you are always baking? Bread is one of my great weaknesses. I started printing out my recipes on 8 1/2 x 11 paper and putting them in a 3 ring binder…works best for me.
