Monday
Since today is Monday, constant readers know what I did, right?
Fred said he really didn’t have anything that needed washing so all I had was one load mostly my jeans and cotton sweaters. I also tossed my cotton underpants in the same load. So, that is done. While the clothes were churning, I walked on the manual treadmill for 22 minutes! I was watching "The Fellowship of the Ring" while I was doing this. I really wanted to do 30 minutes but even with a DVD to watch, I can’t do 30 minutes on a manual treadmill. The 22 minutes I did do had about three very brief pauses mostly to drink water but at least one was to let the pains in my hips subside. Interestingly enough to me is that these pains are not pains that feel as if they hurt in the bone which is what the arthritis was feeling like when I was carrying 50 extra pounds. These pains are definitely unused muscles complaining!
I had already seen this movie of the first of the Lord of the Rings trilogy in a movie theater but I still enjoyed it enormously. I am not ordering it from Netflix because I have the whole thing, all three DVDs, coming from Amazon. I haven’t seen the other two movies so this is definitely something to look forward to. I also bought The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron and this arrived today. I have been looking at this book in the library and thinking about this for a while so I decided to get a copy of my own. I got it very cheaply from the book part of EBay. {Which reminds me that I have to go and leave positive feedback; the book came very quickly.} However, I am pretty sure I am not going to start on it until after I get back from my visit Down South.
So far today, I have:
- washed and dried AND put away one load of clothes.
- put the ingredients for hearty nut bread into the machine and let it do its thing. {The company we had ate all the other loaf I made}
- walked up to the drug store to collect Fred’s insulin.
- put the ingredients for a plain white loaf in the machine increasing the yeast just a little since the last two I have made have tasted fine but the top didn’t rise sufficiently. I added a 1/4 teaspoon to the two teaspoons the recipe calls for so we shall see. We love this bread for toast…
Things still to be done during the week:
- Tuesday— tutor Robin
- Wednesday– second tutoring session
- Thursday– reading at the elementary school with Nick, my 4th grade student. We have had a week off since this week is the Spring Break. {I feel sorry for the kids because we still have snow here and tomorrow a big storm with lots of snow is forecast for New England.}
- send email to the coordinator of this reading program and tell her the two Thursdays I will be gone. {I actually have told her but she prefers to have it in writing.} I must also remember to tell Nick.
Until later…
I’ll bet that treadmill you have really workes the glute muscles. I should do that because I am so bad witht those muscles.

Hi! So is the list of things still to be done in the week a new thing? Either way, I like it! Usually you do for the day or the next day, I thought. Sorry to hear you have more snow headed that way! Everyone I know is being bombarded by it right now! I hope it doesn’t hit you guys too badly! ~ Carrie
