Saturday Evening

Fred’s friend Bill came about 1 pm and they watched basketball all afternoon. Part of the time I went for a walk. The rest of the time I noodled around at the computer.

It is now 7 pm and we just got back from eating out. In the next town {which is all of –0h, three minutes drive up the road} there is an authentic diner which has really good food and we went there.

We took Bill’s car which is a tiny little two-door something or another and I was squashed into the back seat which would have been uncomfortable if we had gone more than half a mile.

I had French fries {which I never have at home} and fried clams {ditto for having them at home} and cole slaw {their cole slaw is excellent} and a salad. I am stuffed. I am uncomfortably stuffed. I am uncomfortably disgustingly stuffed!

Now I am off to watch a DVD in the bedroom and make a real effort to get to bed at a reasonable hour tonight.

Until later…

My colleague who takes me to work has a 2 door car – it’s very cramped in the back and that’s for about 25 miles! lol

I am feeling that it was even harder being stuffed and stuffed in the back seat on the return trip. Oh well, a meal out is a meal out and those clams sound yummy!

ryn: I agree. £6 is ridiculous. *shrugs* But I wanted to see it so…

well at least you are stuffed with good food! 🙂

I remember telling a friend, when he was buying a new car, that he had to buy a four-door, because his friends were too old for him to have a two-door. I think that was ten years ago!

I love fried clams. Yum!! Can’t get them around here. I pig out every time I go home to New Brunswick.

Ow. But at least the food was yummy. A shame about fried stuff, that it never makes a good doggy-bag snack.

I had a recurring nightmare growing up of being stuck in the back of a 2 door during a car accident.

That sounds like a superb dinner!

Those little diners are a diet-crashing site because the food is SO delicious. There are many seniors in the area where I live. They favor a particular diner that has homemade bread that is wonderful.I could never own a bread machine. I would weigh so much more than I do now!

I am glad you enjoyed your meal out. My daughter has a small car and those back seats are just tiny!
