Saturday Evening

I walked for 30 minutes this morning. It was cold but it was nice. I really enjoy striding along with music in my ears.

Fred and I went grocery shopping this morning.  { After the problems we had last time, you will be glad to know he is still living!}    Part of the problem last time was that I was on the edge of being hungry when we went shopping so I was on the edge of being irritable. This time, I ate before we went. I took him up to the front and dropped him off without asking him and then parked the car. I had my list and he had his and that worked very well.  He bought a pork roast and cooked it tonight and it was delicious. I bought, among other things, ten pounds of bread flour!

Tomorrow I have a few bits and pieces I want to get done:

  • Call the suppliers and get them to pick up the commode. It is no longer needed but I mislaid their phone number after they came to pick up the oxygen. At that time, Fred still needed the bedside commode but now it needs to go back AND I found the phone number.
  • Make another loaf. I keep asking Fred if I should try another recipe but we both love the one I make all the time so why change perfection? {I told Fred that when he asked if he should add a little maple syrup into Fred’s Famous Oatmeal when he made it today. I really don’t like maple syrup because it is too sweet.}
  • Go for a walk in the morning. Now it is getting a little warmer, I want to get back to the habit of walking twice a day.
  • Get a massage at 1 pm.
  • Add black pepper and ginger to the grocery list.

Until later…

I like to stick to a good recipe when I find one that works. Just came across your diary on the front page; I like the title “With Grace and Dignity.” Enjoy your walk tomorrow!

random reader: WOW! Congrats on the weight loss. Thats wonderful. I loved reading your front page!

I like sweet oatmeal. I put no-cal sweetener in it, then add honey! LOL! But I think maple syrup would be weird. But I may try it, just to make sure. How can you eat that much bread and not gain weight! Seems like you make a loaf almost every day!

Reading about you and your ipod has made me realize–I need to get an ipod! and a computer that lets me load it (mine doesn’t). i have been threatening to get a new computer for a long time anyway.

I’ve put maple syrup in mine sometimes. I think I mostly eat it because it’s filling.

Since I’ve been offline for a couple of weeks I’ve missed the reports that Fred is feeling well enough to shop!! Quite a testamonial for a male type! I’m glad you are emerging from the housebound-with-a-cranky-patient phase of things.

Glad that you were able to get your walk in. Enjoy your massage, you deserve it. Relax, and enjoy. Glad that Fred seems to be getting better.

I need a massage!!!!! Does your IPOD lose it’s charge if you don’t use it for a few days? Do you always leave it plugged into power? your computer?

I’m glad the latest shopping trip went more smoothly! I’m very irritable when I’m hungry too, and probably not only fuss more, but spend more. ryn: I miss being able to post pictures. I must either get a new scanner, or start getting my pictures developed on computer CDs. Which reminds me, I must get a new camera because mine seems to have disappeared! Wishing you a lovely day! hugs, Weesprite

I’ve caught up on your entries. I hope you do get paid for tutoring your early caller. (Rosie?) Speaking of oatmeal, you’ve reminded me that I am going to get back in the oatmeal for breakfast habit. I’m going to make some right now – without maple syrup. I do use no-calorie syrup.

You’re so right. Why change perfection! I’m glad this shopping trip worked out well. Good for you, dropping Fred off at the door without asking.

More steps to getting back to normal. 🙂

ryn–No it would not seem like a chore, at least I know that about 5 minutes into it I’d feel happy to be doing it. So it is somewhat like exercise. Hard to get going but once it’s underway I’m glad to be doing it.

Everything sounds like its going GREAT! As for the bread recipe, if it aint broke, don’t fix it 😉

Glad to see that the shopping trip went much better this time. I love maple syrup in my oatmeal.

I am thrilled, Patrisha, that Fred is well enough to go out grocery shopping! This is a HUGE STEP!! Soon, he will take over the shopping himself. Boy, won’t that be wonderful? Love, Anna

Sure I would go on another cruise. Why wouldn’t you go again?
