Mostly Lists
Well, I didn’t get some of the stuff done that I planned but I got other stuff done.
- I put the Scrabble box out on the corner of the table but we never got to it.
- The corner of the room where I stack my sweaters is still the way it was this morning.
- I tried to take a nap but got interrupted twice by the telephone.
- I made gingerbread but don’t get excited–it was a mix!
- I finally did take a nap and I was woken by {what else?} the phone.
- Fred’s friend Bill is coming over for the evening meal tomorrow.
- I watched my second Star Wars movie “The Empire Strikes Back.”
I am wondering where the day went. I am sitting here thinking what I have done today and I can’t think of anything really except what I classify as ordinary everyday stuff like dishes and meals that I would be doing anyway! At the end of each day I like to have something, no matter how little, that I can say I have done today. Nothing like that today.
So, tomorrow:
- Go for a walk.
- Play Scrabble
- Reorganized my sweater stacks–a job that will take all of 10 minutes when I actually do it.
- Make food for Fred’s friend—some kind of soup, I think
- Watch my last Star Wars movie.
Until later…
Lor’, my life is boring!
Sometimes, boring is downright grand.

Hey, you’re actually very busy, you just don’t realize it yet. And sometimes, we have to put the brakes on, or we just simple frazzle ourselves to a cinder.

i have days like that too, i do a lot because a meal is made from scratch not out of the freezer or a tin and laundry takes longer than one may think etc, but at the end of the day it’s just household stuff that people do every day and i feel like nothing additional was accomplished.

Most of my days are like that, making lists and doing mostly what isn’t on the list. One day’s list can take a whole week to accomplish. Hey, you got the Scrabble game out of the box! Now you are all set to play! Leave it out of the box and you and Fred will be all set to go every day.

I wish I could get my Hubby motivated to play Scrabble. He has played the odd time but it really isn’t his game. I have three friends who love to play and would like to meet once a week. All we have to do is find an afternoon that we can get together. And hey, it is comforting to know that other people have ordinary lives. I thought it was just me. Sometimes excitement isn’t all that good.
