Some Thoughts This Evening

  • If I thought I had to live like this for years and years and years, I would give up. So, today, when I got discouraged, I wrote “One hour at a time. You can do that!” and put it on my monitor where I can look at it.
  • I have another massage on this coming Sunday. I need it.
  • I didn’t get to the grocery store since it snowed so heavily today. Tomorrow the forecast is better so I will go.
  • It is not a Good Thing to wash Fred’s dark green sweat pants in hot water with the towels. We now have a set of rather pretty pale green towels!
  • Fred had to take an Immodium AD tonight. {AD is anti-diarrhea} Chlorine is my friend.
  • Mike-Our-Landlord called me from Boston where he and Melanie are staying with relatives. They have car trouble which is going to delay them for a day and he called to tell me he was going to arrange for someone to clear the snow away! Didn’t we luck out when they bought the house? Anyway, I told him all was well since A., who lives with her two kids next door had already cleared our snow as well as hers. We’ve got good neighbors, too.
  • My DVD player is hooked up and I have watched my three Netflix DVD’s. Black Adder wasn’t as funny as I remember, All Creatures Great And Small was as nice as it was the first time, and House of Cards which I had never seen before was excellent! I immediately went to my Netflix queue and put the next two parts of The House of Cards trilogy at the top of the list.
  • My wish list at Amazon now has the Star Wars DVD on it! {I keep a wish list so that when I need to be cheered up, I can buy myself something from it.}

Now I am off to set up the Netflix account on Fred’s computer so he can see what is on the list and add some stuff to it.

Until later…

Netflix is addictive. I love how it will pop up with suggestions. I rent a lot of Chinese films that way. Nice to hear that Fred’s on the mend.

Patricia, I didn’t realize that House of Cards is a trilogy. I haven’t seen even one of them. Is that the story of an autistic boy?

Oh my yes, one hour at a time is the only way to deal with your situation. (((hugs)))

The House of Cards trilogy is amazing. Though the first one is certainly the best as it has a freshness about it. 🙂

Hope you have better luck with Netflix than I did. Most of the dvds were damaged and they charged me, although I had received a gift membership. Husband is currently watching All Creatures… I bought him the PBS series and its specials as a Yule gift. We love them.

I try to tell myself that all the time, One hour at a time. One day at a time. One activity at a time. Sounds like things are getting better. We have a winter storm coming in too. Snow for the high country, rain for us.

My aren’t you just up to date on all this computer stuff, dear. You passed me eons ago with your IPod! LOL!

Soaking the pale green towels, assuming you don’t have a desire to have pale green towels, in a strong solution of Oxyclean will take out the dye. You’re very wise Patricia. I would do well to follow your example.

You do have great neighbors. Blessings.

I am a merchandiser for a company that merchandises DVD’s for Walmart stores. They just dropped the price of the Star Wars Trilogy to $39.99. Not sure if you have one around you but the price earlier this year was $52. So it’s really a savings. I am not voting for Walmart since I don’t work for them and I don’t care about the DVD sales. Just a thought.
