Late Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve this year feels like any other evening. The only thing different about tomorrow is that I get to unpack and set up a DVD player that my younger son got me for Christmas. I have three movies fom Netflix already waiting to be seen so I hope I can hook the machine up successfully.  There are also two other packages for me under the Christmas tree from my two sons. Fred has already given me a beautiful necklace. Oh, and without even knowing he was in trouble, he redeemed himself.  You remember how annoyed I was that he bought me the same necklace as he bought his daughters? Well, apparently he bought it for me first and then for his daughters. Silly though that sounds, I am glad that he chose it for me first. And all of this came out casually because I never told him anything except how pretty the necklace is and how much I like it.

Things I have to do tomorrow:

  • Go for at least one walk. {I got a short one in today when I walked up to the drug store for Fred’s medication and then walked for a further 15 minutes.}
  • Wash the towels. {Mike and Melanie are gone for a few days so I am taking advantage and washing when I feel like it instead of just Mondays}
  • Sort through the huge pile of mixed up summer and winter clothes that Fred has piled up all around his side of the bedroom and find him something he can wear!
  • Do something {egg salad?} with the five eggs I hard-boiled yesterday.
  • Make a big, a VERY big green salad.
  • Remind Fred to let Bill know I need to have him over by 12:30 on Sunday so I can go for a massage at 1 pm! Actually, since I am the one who needs to have him here, I should call him.

Until later

I hope you have a wonderful Christmas! Hugs,

A quiet Christmas at home. With movies that you like. Much preferrable to the insanity and scheduling that goes on in many families. I’m kind of envious — I’m up early, over to the kids & grandkids, we’ll rip open all our presents, have brunch. Then home, and friends over for dinner. Did I mention friends are flying in tonight for the week? Maybe I’ll come to your house for some peace & quiet!

Merry Christmas, Patrisha and Fred 🙂 Blessings abound, my friends!

Dear Patrisha, how difficult this season is for you, and yet how strongly & sanely you are handling it. How IS Fred by now? How long will you have to play nursemaid? I fear it is a long haul for you — but I hope not. Enjoy your day and your new player & movies! Love, Anna

I’m glad Fred redeemed himself regarding the necklace, knowing how much better it made you feel. Cheers, frank

massage! Faboo!

I like Netflix a lot. No long lines to stand in, no waits for new movies, and very convenient. I also appreciate the selection of documentaries, as well as independent and foreign films. Good health and best wishes for the coming year!

I can understand the importance of the necklace being chosen for you first.
