A Plan
Another almost-non-sleeping night. Last time the clock registered in my vision. it said 4:30 am.
The telephone woke me at 8:30. When I got up to see whom the message on the machine was from, it was Fred. He has been moved to the heart area. His atrial fibrillation started again and so he was moved so his cardiologist could keep a closer eye on him.
The scales told me that I have gained two pounds this morning. I am not surprised.
Ok, plan for the day.
- I can’t walk before I go to the hospital because Fred is expecting me at 10 am with his insulin and it is now 9:20. So, drink coffee {I had my breakfast at 3 am in hopes that a full stomach was conducive to sleep}and scrape ice off car.
- Go to the hospital and be cheerful for a couple of hours
- Stay away from the cafeteria. If it is necessary to go to the cafeteria, stay away from the pizza. {Their salad bar is minimal but it exists}
- Come home and if necessary sleep for two hours. It may not be necessary and if I have my second wind, I will sleep better tonight if I don’t nap.
- Walk for at least 30 minutes today. It occurs to me that I may be able to walk in the hospital grounds if Bill {Fred’s friend} is there when I get there and he may well be.
- If I can’t walk, resist the urge to beat myself up and get back into the habit tomorrow.
Ok, I feel better now since I have a plan.
Until later…
Best Wishes

A plan is good. On the other hand, if you have a day without a plan, you know you can get back into your routine tomorrow or the next day. But yes, a plan is good. I’m trying to formulate one now. Hang in there, Patricia. I’m still sending good vibes your way, for Fred and you.

Sounds like a good plan! There is so much going on, don’t beat yourself up if you can’t walk. You are amazing and strong! I hope your day is easy on you… 🙂

No, don’t beat yourself up. You have a lot going on.

When life disrupts the normal routine, it’s always things like diet and exercise that fly out the window. I wonder why that is?

I hope he will be ok.

there will be no beating yourself up..because if you do, I’ll come up (or is it over now?) there and kick your butt 🙂

Lots of stress for you, I hope you can get some walking in today to help.

It seems as though you are dealing with these stressors in a most sensible way. Do not worry about getting a bit off track with the exercise and diet now. You will soon correct this when all is back to normal. Wishing you a good night’s sleep.
